When in Rome, do as the Romans do...but we are in America and most of us understand the French system of Kilos representing 1,000's as in kilogram and kilowatt and use K for thousands, i.e. $3K for $3,000. Except, when using dates, then M represents thousands as in the year 2,000 is MM. Don't you just love the English language!

And another exception is the Americand and Canadian printing industry, where M is (as it has been from the days of Gutenberg, I'd imagine) thousands.

My parents called from Laguna Beach, CA where my mother said, "we just saw a little silver Airstream drive by on the Pacific Coast Highway! It had 6781 in big red numbers, and it was beautifully polished."

I assured them I'd look it up and say hello if I found out who it was, and pass on a hello from them.

Our 60 Caravel was converted to an office. Complete with 70amp power and 220v water heater. It has returned to the way Wally intended.

Spottings!

#4156 Excella with Oregon plates at the Albertson's parking lot in Morro Bay, CA
&
#5277 headed south on Hwy 101 in Ventura

Met a nice couple from Port Townsend, Wa at Ocean Mesa Rv Resort in Santa Barbara, not forum members.

Having gone 1500 miles on this trip I spotted many other Airstreams but not always able to write the info down and memory is a sad thing these days.

We spotted three this morning in a matter of 5 minutes heading West on I-10 through Phoenix in the Chandler area.

1 was a 23' New Tandem Axle being towed by a white Mini Van

2 others appeared to be travelling together both looked like 30' classics being towed by a F250 and the other looked like a white Dodge diesel.

Hey Bill,
Your situation sounds familiar to many of us here. How about starting your own thread or a blog about the restoration you guys are doing?

Bill it's really quite easy. If I can do it anyone can. In a way you already are. If you can post a reply you can certainly start a new one. Just go to the forum that your interest is in and hit the button, on the top left hand side of the other threads. Tittle your thread then ask your question like you have been doing already. Bill I am only using two fingers to type this. Good luck welcome to the forum you certainly have a head start over some here you already have an Airstream. I didn't have one until 8 months after I first logged on to this forum. Now I am looking for my second one. They do tend to multiply.

Almost always sunny here unless there is a hurricane bearing down on you. And then it's time to hook up the burb and roll. So far I've been very lucky.

I saw a nice looking Interstate at St. John's Bank in O'fallon, MO today. Blue in color.
