More airstreams on I-65 southbound

Was driving back and forth to Frankfort again from home...

Saw two airstreams going southbound on I-65. One was a vintage unit (just before the Corvette Museum exit), and the other had a blue stripe and the numbers 61?4 (forgot one of the numbers) on it...it was a bit farther north, closer to Smith's Grove or Cave City.

Saw a 345LE in North Spokane yesterday on our way to Silverwood. They were from Conneticut and had a yellow vw in tow.

Then we saw a newer 22'ish heading south on Hwy 95 towed by a red SUV or Truck.

They are great people and that is a sweet 345. Alumitube and I met them when they stayed at the North Little Rock KOA. I met Susan south of Little Rock and rode in her and Bradís 310. We got to park them side-by-side and compare and take pictures.

You ain't kiddin' that is some adventure. I wish I had the guts to do something like that. But I have grown too comforatable knowing where my next paycheck is coming from, and my employer will not allow me to work from the road.

Vaughan,
I remember the thread where you all posted those pictures. And you are right, that is a sweet looking 345. Ever since I saw those two sitting togeter I have had my eye out for one to add to our collection. My wife wants to travel in a mobile home, and who am I to deny her that fantasy.

Airhog,
Can you find me one closer to my home???

Mohrsville, PA to Hattiesburg, MS (1,083 miles) is a little further than I am willing to travel.

Suddenly I'm surrounded by Airstreams!

I used to be the only Airstream at Rye Cyn Storage and now there are five others.

Seems every weekend I see yeat another Airstream under tow here in Valencia. In the last two weeks there were three 25 footers and a Bambi.

I'm loving it!

That one has been there a while. Did you spot the late '50's model on the side of hwy 98 just after you leave Moffit Ala?

Spotted a shinny 66 Safari getting on the Edmonds-Kingston ferry. It was on the Edmonds side going to Kingston being pulled by a black suv.

Classic Moho with North Carolina plates spotted on I-40 East mile marker 192 8/22/08 headed toward Nashville, TN. It had red trim where blue or wood decal would normally be and just over the clearance lights in the back were nicely painted palm trees with sand around them. It looked like it was in excellent shape.

Nice older Excella in a back yard in Carthage, MO, just before the Oak Street bridge. I understand the gentleman that lives there restores Airstreams.

Also Colaw's in Missouri has one out front for sale, I believe it was an Overlander. Got a huge dent in the front endcap that looks repairable and I know the floor needs replaced but it looks restorable. Sorry I didn't get the price but I got too excited over finding an original set of Argosy hubcaps on a salvage unit that I forgot to ask.

My Brother-in-law says he's seen more UFOs than Airstreams in his neck of the woods. He's doing much better now!

Did it look like this?

I dunno, not many 'round these here parts. Me and the missus just got back from tent camping for 10 days in a Provincial Park not too far from Ottawa, Ontario. We got out on the road most days, and saw a zillion 5th Wheels, multitudes of SOBs (many seemingly not so "S"), and ::drum roll::

ONE Airstream.

He was coming at me from the opposite direction, so no soap for a picture.

Could be our dollar is still too high to make it interesting for Americans to come up?

Looks like the local folks are still spending lots of money on new trailers, just not on AS rigs.
