it's a real place. honest.

LOL!

Poole Knobs is a COE campground just SE of Nashville, TN (off I-24 in LaVergne). We-uns in TN call a hill in the middle of nowhere a knob...

It really is a nice campground! You're close enough to the big city to enjoy it's pursuits, yet far away enough to feel you're in the middle of nowhere... Come visit!

Passed what appeared to be an early '90s '25-'28 Excella being towed by a burgundy late model F-150 on my way to work today around 1:30PM. Was headed toward Charleston on I-26 East at the junction of I-26 and I-20. Didn't get a look at the plates because of the SUV riding their back bumper.

Just north of Hickory, PA we spotted a 1983 Tradewind. Original WBCCI numbers (now removed or very badly faded) were 25876. She is sitting in a field next to PA Rt 18, as though she's for sale (no license plate, not level...), but no For Sale sign.

We also took a bike ride along the Youghiogheny River and spotted a poor old 1959 (we think) 26 footer (Overlander) just before reaching Confluence, PA. It had a For Sale sign, but when we saw the frame was bent skyward at the tongue, we rode on.

Two in one day, that's a record for us.

airstream sightings

It only happens infrequently, but I was surprised to see an Airstream traveling East by my home on August 7. Since we are over six miles from the Interstate, and the nearest attractions are more than ten miles away, we see very few RVs of any kind traveling our road. This was a Bambi QuickSilver being towed by a late model pickup. I was so shocked that I didn't really notice the make or color of the pickup, but I believe that it was probably a late model Ford. This would have been about 3:30 to 3:45 p.m. on Friday, and the combination was traveling East on Illinois 146 in Anna IL. I didn't notice any WBCCI numbers on the Airstream.

Saw an Airstream Moho (34'??) headed south on Rt 12 in Chippewa Bay around 3:30 Friday afternoon. A couple of hours later I saw a 16-20' Argosy headed North on Rt 81 between Watertown and Syracuse.

Kind of an Airstream sighting

This sighting is a little different.I was just viewing the Confederation Bridge cam which is the video camera mounted on the end of the bridge from New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island Canada.
A late model Airstream with a WBCCI number was seen crossing towards PEI.Probably going to the Region 1 Rally on the island next week.
Here is a link to the camera,

We saw an airstream on Sunday headed Eastbound on I-24 just past Cadiz, KY-- No numbers.

Today I'm at Prizer Point in Cadiz, KY and an older Classic literally just pulled in. No numbers. Folks are from California. Looks like a 30 or more ft unit. Has blue and maroon stripes.

I saw a great big AS headed east on I-94 between Zeeb and Jackson Rd exits in Ann Arbor, MI. No red numbers on the front plus I was driving the other way so I couldn't have written them down. Had to be at least 30' long. She was a beauty!

Saw one Airstream heading northbound on 395 at Lone Pine and and another going Northbound in Olancha, CA as we were returning from Mammoth....without our rig.....today...think both were vintage but it is hard to tell driving and meeting not following (the Airstreams were going the other way)...barely caught a glimpse of them (don't tell how fast I was going)......saw lots of SOB's traveling and parked....paula

Saw what looked to be a '60s Airstream heading southbound on I-5 near Northgate (Seattle) yesterday afternoon around 3:15. Once again, I made my carpool partner jump when I screamed "Airstream!"

Montplier VT

Passed in opposite dicrection WBCCI # 6683 on Highway 3 leaving Montpier VT today (8/12). Nice wave from the driver and a flash of lights and wave from us. According to my WBCCI book, they are from Ontario Canada.

After a long AS drought, saw 4 yesterday! I was on I-5 from Eugene to Portland and saw three within about a half hour, all going south... a newish 23-25 footer, a big ole' 1970's classic and then a vintage 22 to 25 foot. Geez, I've got to get better at the 65 mph ID! Also saw a newish 23-25 foot safari heading north when I was on my way home.

I was driving my Mustang so no "WINKING" at y'all, but I sure had a big smile on my face

Airstream Sighting-palooza

While Driving to Frankfort, KY today I saw four (count em, four!) airstreams heading west...

The first was on the Wendell Ford Parkway, then I saw three in a row (!!!) on the Bluegrass Parkway just outside of Bardstown. While I was just traveling by car, I still waved and "winked."

Sorry I couldn't get numbers... But just wanted to say, "Hi, I have one too!"

What is this? A Clipper?

Saw this today in Austin parked at someone's house. Anyone know what it is? There was no decal on the unit that I could tell.

16' Bambi Sighted in Johnson County Illinois

Just as we were preparing to leave Dolly's Place in Vienna, IL (IL 146 1.5 miles West of Interstate 24), looked out to the highway to spy a new or late model 16' Bambi (temporary tags on coach) being towed by a late model bright red Ford F150 pickup. I am not certain, but this may have been the same Bambi that I sighted about a week ago headed East through Anna.

It is probably a silver streak- not an Airstream. But I can't say for sure. It is a shame they put an AC unit on it- when you have one that old it should really be modernized. But you did say you saw it in Austin- if they needed an ac unit that bad they could have put one on the floor on sliders with a false panel on the outside.
