I know what your saying. When I went to New Mexico at the end of March I saw very few of them In the Texas Panhandle I did see several not to far apart on the highway so I think there was a rally going on. Other then that very few. I pulled my Caravel back and never saw a post about someone seeing me either..LOL.. I guess its right time right place kind of thing...

Bowl-A-Rama

Saw this Airstream in the Silverton Casino in Las Vegas while there over Thanksgiving. The shell appeared to built from various Airstream parts and was about 60' long! It was also a couple feet wider to accomodate the duckpin bowling alley inside. The walls were about 6' thick to help deaden the sound from the balls hitting the pins.

Maiden Voyage?

Saw this sweet babe in the overflow area of Seacliff State Park (Aptos, CA) this afternoon. Looked very brand-spanking-new--even the hitch was spotless! (Which needs a little adjust BTW--TV was a bit nose-up.)
Still had the dealer plate (Toscano in Los Banos. Ours too! Great place.) and we noticed the rolled-up awning was a very pretty red.

I am pretty sure that is one of the DWR edition Airstreams! Good eye on spotting this one!

Rollerboy, you might want too ask about it now. Winter can be a great sale motivator.

Speechless.....

Seen in Dallas/ Fort Worth area........A newer Prevo towing a 30 +/- ft Airstrteam. Some sort of editorial comment is certainly due here.

I saw 2 today on I40 heading West near Knoxville, Tn. The first one had 3 or 4 of the small oval windows down the side with writing from front to rear near the top. The second one looked like a late 70's early 80's Sovereign.

Some people can afford the best.

Some people can afford the most expensive.

And some people can afford both!

OK - I'll bite. My guess is that it may be a 29' Ambassador or a 31' Sovereign. I'd put the year at 1970 to 1972. 1969's typically had square corners on the bottom of the front wing windows. 1973 and after generally had the upper front outboard marker lamps further forward.

The base weight of a 29' Amabassador from this era should be about 4700 to 4900 lbs. and a 31' Sovereign about 4900 to 5000 lbs. I see this one has a street side window awning, so it probably has a curb side patio awning and likely a rear window awning. It also has an air conditioner. These will all add a little weight, so this trailer is probaly in the low 5000's empty, before you would add your stuff and water, etc. Certainly not as heavy as a more recent 29'-31' Airstream, but still suggesting a relatively stout tow vehicle (e.g. full size truck).

As for owning it, that would depend upon price and condition. You can find a lot of threads here by searching on those subjects. Price could range from less that $1000 for a unit in need of axles, frame work, and/or a total interior redo (i.e. one that was used hard or perhaps left to sit unused for a long time, especially if there were water leaks). If there is major skin damage on the unseen side that also would make the value plummet. A fully restored unit might be worth over $10,000. Without seeing more detail of the trailer, I'll guess it is worth closer to the former than the latter, but if the interior, skin, frame and axles are in OK shape and the trailer has been recently used and all features and appliances work, it might be worth a little more (maybe $4000-$5000), but I am not an expert on the 70's, so that is more a guess than anything. Still judging from seeing only a distance photo of one side of the outside, I'll stick with my guess that the value is somewhere $1000 and $5000 and I actually lean toward the lower end of this range. I doubt anyone can be more precise without inspecting the trailer in person.

Good luck if you choose to pursue it!

A buddy found these two somewhere along the Oregon coast last week. They are pretty beat up and stripped from the look of it.

I spotted what looked to be a 70's 31' on a flat bed 18 wheeler headed west on I-20 toward Vicksburg MS last Thursday.
