Went to Ft. Wilderness over the weekend for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and saw three vintage Airstreams on the I-75 and on the FL turnpike. Also, there was an International Bambi in the same loop we were in (loop 300, tow vehicle was a black Land Rover Discovery if you are a member of the airforums!) but never saw the owners. There was a 27' FB Classic in another loop and still another late model wide body (front wrap window) in another loop but I couldn't get a good enough look at it to get any other details. I would have liked to tour all of the loops to see if there were more, but I didn't have a chance to do so.

Caught sight of five Airstreams passing through downtown Fredericksburg, Texas, heading west shortly before noon yesterday (Oct. 25). I caught the number of one--2929.

Wherever they were goin'....I wanna go!!!

Saw an older airstream being pulled by white van on the E/W connector near Austell GA earlier this afternoon. If they were going to the falluminum they were heading the wrong direction.

We were in site 108 with our 1986 25' from Saturday through today (10/26). During the week there was an additional 5 Airstreams near the Meadows trading post. Several were WBCCI members.

Sorry we missed you.

We also drove with several triple axles breifly on the way down I-75 from Atlanta. One near Lake City and one on the turnpike.

I bet we drove by your camp site Saturday night after the Haunted Hay Ride and didn't see you for the glare of one of the camp sites. We made a wrong turn on the golf cart and wound up in loop 100 after we left the Settlement and entered the back of the loop. We saw lots of decorations on one of the sites. We were kind of blinded by their lights!

We were there for such a short time I didn't have time to go on an Airstream search like I always say I'm going to do and never have time for. Maybe while we are there for Christmas, probably not. Maybe some other trip.

Minnie's Mate, I assure you the glare was not from our campsite. We only had orange halloween lights on our awning, nothing else.

We are going to go back next year for the Not so scary Halloween. We really thought it was a top notch event.

I saw a Argosy on final into Piney/ Halfway OR70 earlier this week. I asked if my passenger knew who owned it. He was not sure.

I think the site I was talking about may have been 113. My wife said she saw an Airstream in loop 100 when we were going through. That must have been you guys.

We have been doing MNSSHP for three years now. The first year the parade and fireworks were canceled by Hurricane Wilma, but last year the parade was preceded by the Headless Horseman. That was great. The horse is taught the parade route and the rider hangs on with his knees and has a lighted pumpkin in one hand. The horse has red lights next to his eyes and special horse shoes that emits sparks as he runs at full gallop down the street in the park. It's hard to get a photo because he goes so fast. The rider has practically no visibility, just little slits, so he depends on the horse.

The same rider/horse did the Haunted Hayride last year, too. We stopped to pick up a rider at the settlement who told us of the mysterious disappearances that took place in the woods nearby. As we proceeded we came upon Ichabod Crane who insisted on taking a different path. Later we found his riding cloak and scarf in the trees and the Headless Horseman on the other side of the creek. But, he crossed the bridge and chased the wagon. There were glow sticks attached to the back of the wagon so the horse knew when to stop. My wife was in the back corner of the wagon and could feel the breath of the horse! He would stop every time he caught up with the wagon and spin in a circle just before returning to the chase. This time, the Horseman had a lighted sword in the other hand and would wave it at the wagon and over his body while the horse turned. It was great. However, this year they had a different story. I didn't think it was as good.

My wife asked what happened to the Headless Horseman and the Legend of Sleepy Hollow and she was told that the horse got spooked last year and wouldn't perform. The Headless Horseman was missing from the parade this year but we figured it was because it had rained and the streets in the park were wet and slippery. Below is a photo someone else took of the Horseman from another year:

We were camping at New Brighten state beach in Santa Cruz over this past weekend. There was a Safari there also. I was unable to go over and say hi, but did get the wave hi as they left Sunday morning.

Minnie Mate - you may know this already - but you live very close to an Airstream master restoration guy in Fayettville - Todd Coleman. If you're ever anxious to see some truly stellar AS projects give him a shout.
