each time, and it's been true since the first AS I bought, I travel I see at least one a day on average basis. When I don't it's kind of a sad day. And to make it perfect the other AS has to answer back to my movements...
It does't apply when the AS is parked... make sens.

Rollerboy, Looks to be a '69 or early '70's Tradewind. It also appears to still have the vin plate beneath the window to the right of the cabin entrance door. That (the vin number) would help us to know exactly what it is. As would pictures of the interior. If the floor is solid and appliances work $4000. would not be a bad price. Happy Trails, Ed

Sad? Why? This Safari is a real opportunity for someone who is looking for a project at a real reasonable price!!!! Happy Trails, Ed

owner says it is a 24 FOOT land yacht...but how can that be ? (measured from the rear bumper to the front of the living area and it was 18 foot and change... I thought landyacht was only a trim package ,right so tradewind is the base model and landyacht is the option package ? serial number is L23D4J2686 and above that is C40 GD ,Thank You ALL !!!

Rollerboy,

I think it is a 1974 Safari, rear bath, double bed, land yacht trim package from Jackson Center. Safaris are 23 feet, the serial number plate should say Safari also. Airstreams are measured bumper to ball and seldom equal the advertised length.

It's a LandYacht (L) 23' (23) 1974 (the 4 after the D) manufactured in Jackson (J). Number of the unit itself is 2686.
The D stand for the floor plan and if I recall correctly it's a rear bath.

Edit : sorry wkerfoot I didn't saw your post. because of the new page it was on.

While waiting for the ferry in Nanaimo to come back to Vancouver, there was a 1982 34 footer. I chatted with the owner and got a tour inside. He's got it set up with solar panels and an RV-500 on demand water heater.

Seen Saturday, October 6th just south of Lynden, WA on the Guide Meridian, east side of the road, about 2/3rd of the way from Bellingham to Lynden.

The window on the curb side in the middle had clear plastic over it so it must have been cracked or missing.
