Beautiful Argosy

Was driving east on I-40 today, just west of Jackson, TN. Saw a really good looking Argosy headed west. Looked like it had been painted recently. Not sure about the size but it was at least a 25'. The tow vehicle looked like an old Willys (sp) and was painted the same as the lower color of the Argosy. Great looking combo. The owner gave us a big wave as we flashed our lights at him. Hope he is a member here.

I am pretty sure the two bambi's on the trailer were the same two I saw three weeks ago in Georgia on I-85. Must be a slow trip.

Two days last week I saw two vintage Airstreams heading North on I-85 just outside the perimeter south of the Atlanta Airport.

Yesterday I had business in the Virginia-Highlands residential neighborhood and was driving down Barret Street and saw a Classic 345 Motor Home parked at the curb of one of the houses. It was apparently there to be packed because there really isn't "official" on-street parking there and it had an orange traffic cone at the street-side corner of the rear bumper. When I was leaving the area I made a point to go back by this house to see if I could catch the owner out to see if they are members of the forums, but didn't see them out.

If you are the owner and are reading this, nice motor home!

Yesterday, at the Post Falls (ID) post office...Bright blue dodge pickup with canopy and bikes on top...smaller, newer Airstream. Later I saw them again, heading north on Hwy. 41...off to British Columbia maybe?

Not an Airstream, but yesterday we saw what looked to be an old Spartan Manor being hauled south on I-30 toward Dallas. It was on a low-boy flatbed that looked like it was configured to haul a trackhoe or something - the trailer had the nose down in the low-boy part and the tail sticking up in the air since the rear was on the raised part in the back!

I didn't have time to get the camera (darn it!) but it would have made a GREAT shot!

AS on TV

Was watching the Food Channel on Sat, Sandra Lee, (who'd a thunk it?).
She was doing a picnic for her nephews at some lake. Behind her was a beautiful AS. Looked like a 26-28 ft, maybe tradewind? Hard to tell as they didn't 'feature' it.

I saw that episode, too. It was a nice one with full awnings all around.

Hey Dufferin - you would have to have seen at least a couple of Airstreams this weekend, this being Show America and use your Airstream weekend and all .

It must be getting darned cool at nights up your way now. Enjoy your travels.

I must live in the wrong part of the country. My wife and I are planning to purchase our first A/S in the Spring. Now we are visiting campgrounds and RV parks to get a handle on the hows and whys. This past week end we visited nine different RV campgrounds around Ohio and saw a SINGLE A/S Classic. None on the highway and none visiting but this one and it was in the very last park we visited. I'm surprised at how few a number of them we've seen especially being only 100 miles from where many are built. Any explanations? I would love to visit with owners - owners of all sizes and TVs. But, I haven't been able to find any of them. But, we'll certainly keep looking.
