Hi yes we did visit with them. No it is not a Pan-American. Nice couple they are the third owners after the trailer sat in a barn for many years, and was a bank repo. They now own it and have traveled to the east coast a few times now. Oh and it was a slide out unit! I should have taken a picture from the other side. Very cool!

Yup, that's a chimney! That photo was taken at the seller's house the day I bought it. The previous owner used it as a hunting camp and there was a woodstove inside that was removed before I got it. It's been sitting in my yard ever since waiting for me to get time to do something with it. The exterior is in quite good condition, the inside not so much. One of these days...

Hello! We bought a used Bowlus Road Chief for my birthday on Sunday. Picked it up in Florida and the seller shared that it was so complicated and the manufacturer wouldn’t help her, that she had to sell it. My husband is great at figuring things out and he’s a car geek, so we thought - how hard can it be? Oh My!! We are one day away from selling it on as Bowlus wants us to sign paperwork in order to ask about the model number to order a new cassette toilet. The Company seems almost irritated with us instead of sharing our excitement about the purchase. My question to you airstream experts is - is it hopeless to try and get this high tech trailer to work or will a veteran and seasoned AirStream owner / service provider be able to help? I know Bowlus is not Airstream but it’s the closest we can find. It’s unfortunate because we love the trailer. It’s amazing. But we can’t get the battery charged or the toilet fixed so we’re in a bind... Thank you for your thoughts. Elisa

I haven't been in a Road Chief, but I can't imagine that it would be too hard to figure out for an experienced RV technician, or even an RVer who has a lot of DIY experience. If you love the trailer don't sell it! I think you just need to find the right person to help you do some problem solving and get you familiar with the systems. It's too bad the company seems unwilling to help, but perhaps you could ask them if there is a Road Chief owner in your area that you could connect with.
You might want to start a new thread on Air Forums to see if you can attract the attention of other Road Chief owners. I'm not sure if there are any other owners on these forums or not.
