3, EB I-40 east of Gallup NM, small Vintage pulled by a blue Toyota 4Runner, one by a brown Ram PU and then a White or gray PU. Not sure if they were traveling together as they were spaced a bit apart. Safe travels.

Seen on the road in Illinois today: THE FORGOTTEN GOLD AIRSTREAM

My son texted me these photos of an old Airstream this afternoon. It’s the forgotten golden Airstream on tour! It just left the Volo Auto Museum heading to Minnesota for a few days.

AS used by Johnny Morris of Bass Pro

We just arrived at The Cliffs at Long Creek, the newest of the Big Cedar Resort family, on Table Rock Lake south of Branson, MO. Johnny Morris, owner of Bass Pro, is the developer of these properties and they are fantastic. He also ( somehow) purchased a Corps of Engineers campground next door to Long Creek several years ago. I heard it was open and excitedly decided to scope it out. He has made it entirely cabins (BOO!) with two exceptions. First I saw an AS next to the docks for a fancy snack shack. The other I spotted as I left the campground separated from the cabins, beside the large dog park. I noticed it had a set of RED numbers, #17211. I was told it was Johnny Morris’ personal trailer! At least he will enjoy this beautiful location.

At about 4:30PM today (7/3/19), I was in my Chevy Silverado heading east on RT 20 between Winthrop and Twisp, WA., and I saw a ~23-25’ AS being pulled by an F150 (white or gray). I waved at the driver as we passed each other, but if they saw me, I’m sure they probably thought I was a crazy guy.

Spent some time exploring Winthrop, WA. today and ended up driving by and pulling into Pine Near RV Park to ask some questions and get a brochure, and subsequently, saw what looked to be a 19’-20’ Bambi of some type parked in a spot. Was going to say “Hi” to the owner, but they weren’t there at the time.

Spotted a couple of 25-27’ AS following each other headed east on Wa RT 2, west of Stevens Pass. TV’s were half ton pickups. Nearly at the same time, also passed a 23’ which was pulled off on the side of WA RT 2 westbound at a rest spot. The TV looked to be a Chevy Truck (maybe Avalanche?).

Left Titusville, Florida yesterday. Today I’ll be traveling 95, to 26 then 77 and stopping for the night at junction 77/81. Ultimately I’ll end in Caribou, Maine. This is my top bucket list item. This is why I bought my AS and spent the last two years upgrading and practicing on shorter trips. As I was driving yesterday I actually got a little teary eyed thinking about how long I’ve waited for this trip, all the years of saving, all the things I learned in the last 2 years, all the people who said it would never happen, all the obstacles I’ve overcome, all the back surgeries I went through. This is happening!
If you happen to see a 2017 Classic with a 2017 RAM 2500 with a Hensley hitch and Florida tags, silver, please, please honk, wave, flash your light to say Hi (and if it’s possible and safe to do so - photos would be greatly appreciated).

Record for us. Friday we saw 11. Mostly all new 25 footers.

Remarkably, spotted a Norman Rockwell edition in motion Wednesday.

Way to go, Lauri!

I am sure folks would like to follow along, if you start your own thread, like the Acadia thread on which you recently commented.

Happy Trails!
