Last Friday we passed a white Chevy (?) pulling a nice looking vintage unit- they were going North on 101 (we: South) and we waved to each other. That was cool !
Then right next door to our Easter camping was this guy:

She explained that she must have mistaken the highway sign, being I-20 for the speed limit sign and indicated she'd have no problems going the speed limit of 70. As the officer was about to let her go he commented that her three passengers, also little very old ladies, all were extremely quiet and somewhat frightened with not one of them actually acknowledging the fact that he was even there - all of them staring straight ahead and holding on for dear life to which the driver commented "oh, don't worry about them, they will be just fine, it's just that we just came off I-160".
That highway north through Alberta is a great highway to make good time on though as you noticed. Sadly, in days in past, in our corvettes and chevelles, we contributed significant dollars to the tax system to help pay for that highway.

OMG - that's totally restorable. Just needs the tree pulled off and the tires inflated and I'm sure it could be towed home. Then its just a matter of replacing the one or two broken windows, adding a little vulkem and securing the front vent - should be all set.

Caught this off of Highway 20, at the entrance of Beale Air Force Base. Is it you?

Hey cats, I saw those too! We pulled over and looked around- the windows are all blown out- one looked restorable ($$$)- the other: ($$$$$$$). But sad- they've been there a long time!

I believe Baker City, OR is Wally's birthplace. Maybe interesting history on that trailer if it an old enough one. Never know. Hmmmm....let me get out my atlas.

As long as you have the time, the place, the money, the patience, and the resourcefulness to undertake a major domo restoration, be it car or trailer or house for that matter, these types of finds along the highway can be extremely exciting. Particularly if there is any kind of "history" involved as well, so something along the lines of an Airstream that was part of the Wally clan's ownership at some time might be fun to restore. Then again there are some that have been in place for so long that removing them is almost as much of a crime - they've become road and time markers in their own right. We had a cottage on a lake in the mountains of BC and the easiest way for people to find our turn off was to tell them you go to the TeePee trailer and a quarter of a mile past you hang a left. Then some darned fool moved the TeePee and that really buggered everyone up, including us, the first few times. The reason it stood out was that the paint had worn off over the years and it shone just like an old Airstream would.
Thanks for sharing the pictures - it just continues to prove that vintage Airstreams are pretty much every where one would travel if you are keeping your peepers open. I really enjoy seeing these kinds of pictures from a nostalgic point of view.

No pictures yet. She is still at the vet. The shelter took her over to have her spayed. I will pick her up later today.

Highway 70
Hooray for the lucky kitty! Hey Sequoia, dollar signs for rating condition of spotted trailers. I love it.
On our way home from Yooba City on 70 South I spotted this one fly by the other way and called my parents who were a few miles back. Dad caught a picture. Anyone recognize themselves?

That photo just doesn't look right. It has a door within a door that is open, but there is also what appears to be a separate closed screen door on hinges in front of the door within a door ? Also, in front of the closed screen door there is part of what appears to be a wheel opening even though the wheel & wheel opening is clearly visible behind the blue chair? There are also running lights in front of the screen door? The rear half has a smooth curve up behind the open door and the front section has segments in front of the closed front door.
My guess is that it is two trailers were photo shopped together with the forward half having been right/left flipped to meet up with the rear "half" to fill up the photo.

I think what you're seeing in front of the door is a stacked set of windows and the forward arm for the awning. I can clearly see the tightening latch for the awning arm. It took me awhile too when I first saw it to figure out what was going on.

I guess you are right. That would explain the galley cabinets visible through the windows. I guess what appears to be another tire well is something black and round sitting on the table to the right of the windows.
