Petaluma

If you drive west from Petaluma, CA on Bodega Hwy there is an RV storage park that has several AirStreams. Many appear to just be sitting there in storage for a LONG time. However, when my wife contacted the office looking for a deal on a used one, they assured her most of them were being used.

It would be interesting to walk through the place and inventory the different types. Some appear to be quite "vintage."

I saw a SUPER clean looking Argosy being towed by a white pickup in Arascadero, CA today.

jb, I guess the one good thing about trying to live on a retirement income is that it becomes the thing that keeps one in balance. My wife and I both have aluminitus. So we need something to keep us in reality.

dividing your airstream budget among 3 sorta does the same thing. ha! always room for a 4th, though... if i find the perfect whale tail!

1970 safari bunk

There's a 1970 Safari double with bunk -- and real wood cabinetry -- on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=50063

Does it count if you "spotted" it online? Probably not ... I apologize in advance if there's a more appropriate thread for this sighting.

What is the deal when you finally find your first Airstream, and then suddenly you see cool ones for sale everywhere?!

whoa

whoa, do we know what caused the accident?

Mel, you don't have to tell me -- I already am on the lookout for a Caravel to complement our Sovereign -- you know, something small for those quick overnight kayaking trips!

Sorry for throwing this photo out there without all the technical info, but I felt it was a good reminder of what can happen .

Here is what I do know:

Sway was caused by an 18 wheeler on a down hill grade, driver was unable to regain control of the rig.

I don't know what if any sway device was in use.

Other 18 wheelers formed a blockade and were the first to assist.

I do not know the disposition of the Airstream or TV.

The poor woman on the left holding her sock monkey breaks my heart. But it probably is salvageable, let's hope, and ultimately, everyone walked away intact.

Just returned from a flyfishing trip to the San Juan River in New Mexico. On the way up Saturday I saw these three. The first one was around 10:30am on I 40 around winslow. The second and third are parked units on the side of the road. Number 2 is between Shiprock and Farmington and the 3rd is in Blanco. These picture were taken from the bus that my flyfishing club rents for the trip.
