dbradhstream, we were headed in the opposite direction from you! BTW, when did the Turnpike go to $7.50 for a TV plus two axles? I was shocked. In July I think it was more like $2.50.

We went from Atlanta to Orlando Friday for the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and I saw 5 Airstreams headed north on I-75; two were whale tails and the others were Excellas. I only toured about 3 of the loops at Ft. Wilderness Sunday night, but I did see two other Airstreams, 1 Excella and one vintage, Sovereign, I think. It was dark and I couldn't make out tell for sure or make out the length. On the return trip Monday I saw 5 more Airstream trailers (1 whale tail on the FL Turnpike near Orlando, three Excellas, 1 Safari SE), 1 classic motorhome and 2 Class B motorhomes headed south on I-75.

My wife asked what is my facination with finding Airstreams on the road and in the camp ground...she has to ask!?

What’s happening in Gridley, CA?

About 9 a.m. today, I just drove past a gate to the Butte County Fairgrounds in Gridley, CA – about 50 miles north of Sacramento. I saw a sign “Wally Byam Caravan Club” with an arrow pointing into the gate. I phoned the Fairgounds office to see if there was an A/S meeting there and was told that there was. At that early hour on a Friday, I didn’t see any TTs. Anyone know what’s happening? I didn’t get any hits with a search of this site for “Gridley” and didn’t find any events scheduled for Nov. 3-5 on the WCBBI website for Region 12.
We live just five miles from the Fairgrounds and I will drop by in the a.m.

Hi Rex,

The October Blue Beret lists a Past Presidents Rally by the Northern California Unit in Grindley at the Butte City FG from November 1-5.

Saw 2 last weekend - one at Costco in San Luis Obispo on thursday on our way south, and the other one on Sunday on our way home on the 101. My dad who camped with us, also saw one at Jalama Beach, also on Thursday.
With my GT and my brother-in-law's Safari, that was 5 for the weekend - not bad!

Poodle on a string

Snaped this boondocking on BLM land in CO.
Family inherited it from Grandparents.

Note the poodle.

Enjoy,
Michael

Has anyone seen the one on Saturday morning T.V.? 11:00 on CBS a kid show called Cake, There is what looks like a pre 64 Tradewind or something in the backyard fixed like a playhouse. There is even an occasional inside the trailer scene.

Hi Silverhawk, I'm procrastinating getting to work and I'm hoping to look up the show you're talking about, my kid would love it! What time zone are you in? I can't find anything on a kid's show called Cake. Is it Strawberry Shortcake maybe?

Hi, I,m on eastern time here. I think there's a 3 hr. difference in time. Cake is the name. I double checked. The two times I've seen the show, the kids spent time in the backyard, so the trailer got good Air time. It drove me crazy trying to count end panels, when they would show it a second or two at a time.
CBS is one of the local channels. I come across it purely by accident because I do not have cable. My choices are few, even more so on a Saturday A.M.

My sister saw "the most frickin' humungous Airstream ever" (in her words) on Hwy. 401 in Ontario yesterday. She said it made mine (a 25' CCD) look like a "baby"...

Must have been a 34'?

Cheers!
Michelle

49?

Aroung 11:30 today just after we had left Yreka CA. heading for Medford Or. we sighted a truck and trailer pulling an airstream on I5 Heading South. Claudia and I couldn't identify what year or model of the trailer. I just spent some time looking through the Vintage Airstream.com sight. I'm posting a picture of the closest thing I could find that looks like what we saw. In must have been a 1949.
