Okay, here goes:
there's one parked in a gravel pit just east of the lumber mill in Lewiston ID, one off the west end of the runway at Ellensburg WA, another one sitting off the north end of the runway at Anaconda MT, a real gem just over the hill on the Washington side above Lower Granite Dam, several sitting hiding in back lots in Airway Heights/Spokane, I could go on and on, I gotta start packing a`camera!

OK - It's a LandYacht...and

OK all -

Finally made it home - without SilverToy. Spent about 8 hours shoveling snow and chipping 2 inch thick ice out of the drive. The drive is ready for her but I have a family funeral to go to - in Europe. Hope the travel weather is OK.

Back to the trailer outside Deming NM. She is a Land Yacht. Did get about 10 photos including some interior shots, but simply do ot have to time to upload. The info off the nameplate is as follows.

LandYacht TradeWind LY 12 502 - S1273 A-1 S1275 PA 2283

She sits about 1 mile north of Deming NM on Rt. 180 - #2875 Rt 180. Price in the window is $2500. There was a 'ghost' of the original dealer tag??? which was out of Portland OR - Spencer.

Interior was rough. Rear bath, center looked to be living area, mid front kitchen with stove on the street side, front gaucho, all the glass is present, screen was there, door has 2 'center' hinges, 2 part step - lower hanging on one side, AC shroud missing as is the roadside rear cover (water?), has Vista views, there is more but I gotta run....

The sellers Phone # was 505-590- and then 3107 !!!!! OR POSSIBLY !!!! 3907. There was a 3 legged dog that wanted me OUT, OUT, OUT!!!!!!! and so the memory was overwritten with the fear....

Maybe this is the ONE that somebody wants, needs of can't live without!? Hope so....!!!!

Ciao

Axel

This weekend I saw the mother load--37 Airstreams in one place! It was the First Annual Florida Can Opener in Topsail Hill State Park. I was one of the 37. It was a great weekend and we all had a great time.

Interesting thing though, on the way home I saw two Airstreams within five miles of the campground. The first was a CCD and I flashed my lights but no response. The second was a nice mid 20' length Excella; he/she flashed his/her lights just as I was reaching for my light switch. If I am not mistaken, these two turned up at Topsail that afternoon unknowing about the rally that had been their all weekend.

Also, one of the Airstreams I saw at the rally was Rich Lhur's (Publisher of Airstream Life) Tour of America 30' Safari.

Anyone need a project?

Here's one that just appeared parked alongside US-1 in Melbourne, FL. The trailer looks as if it was used as a residence at one time as it has house numbers on the curbside. It's missing the jack and one window. Lots of dents including some holes in the front. Couldn't see inside as the windows are frosted over. The phone number on the for sale sign is (321) 544-7470.

There was actually a whole yard full of imprisoned Airstreams, and a huge garage with more inside. Here's another shot - mine is the semi-shiny one in the center, with the brand new back window.

They were so sad, I wanted to set them all free....

(Shhhh, Clancy Boy, I can't believe you even brought this up. Remember? It was supposed to be a secret. We both got uhm . . . briefly confined for misdemeanor . . . something to do with an SOB and some tin foil. )

Yes, Davis, we're still at it.

well.... i was on my way to the Longhorn steakhouse in Daphne Alabama (for my birthday lunch! ) and saw TWO airstreams traveling together. dunno if they actually WERE together, but one was following the other, no spaces or other cars between them. since i wasn't driving and i was TOTALLY looking the other way untill it was almost too late, i didn't get a close enough look to identify them, but i DID see that one was somewhat newer (new enough to have the blue "beltline") and the one following was solid silver, no belt.

saw 'em on I-10 aprox halfway between Pensacola and Daphne, at around noonish.

if i'da been faster, i'da taken a picture.
maybe next time

I seen what must have been a 30 footer in the Arrowhead Campground in Marrianna Fl. on Saturday 1/20/07 and another on the road known as the Marrianna cutoff..
