We had a great AS day today!

On our way home from a quick weekend in Yellowstone (site 52 in the Mammoth CG - great afternoon shade, morning sun) and saw, first, a new AS under-20' I think- it was quick because we were stopping behind a left-turning trailer just north of Gardiner on Hwy 89 to Livingston, MT - and it was the AS the trailer in front of me was waiting for. Then, a beautiful AS at mile 270 eastbound on I-90, just west of Three Forks. "What kind was it?" I asked my wife as we waved and flashed lights -- "A big, long one..." was the answer. The third was eastbound on I-90 coming down from the pass east of Cardwell, MT - again much light-flashing and waving, and the last AS was older, but looked sharp. It was eastbound on I-90 (of course - we were westbound) north of Deer Lodge near the Mt. 200 junction. The median is wide there, and we couldn't tell if we were seen. All in all, a good Airstream day!

3 sightings in BC Canada

I have a farm In Deroche BC Canada and was walking back from the General Store in the Village, was hot, needed ice cream. The Village is located on Highway 7 (Lougheed Highway) and and a late 70's Airstream went by. I was taken back a little because you just don't see too many airstreams in BC. Except when I am looking at my own being renovated at the farm.
I ended up driving my sister back to Kelowna BC to visit family and took the Greyhound back to Vancouver. On the way back on the 401 near Chilliwack BC I saw 2 more airstreams heading east and jotted down the numbers on my iPhone. Both were older 50's, 60's Airstreams. So here I am thinking what is going on with all these sightings. Turns out there was a rally in and RV park near Hedley on the old Crows nest Highway. So it was a good day for sightings.
BTW if you have not taken Highway 7 from Vancouver to Agassiz it is a great alternative trip than taking the 401 which can be kinda monotonous. You can reconnect over to the 401 at Agassiz. Highway 7 runs one side of the Fraser river in the Fraser Valley and the 401 is on the other. Good alternate route especially heading east since the mountain scenery just before getting to Agassiz is amazing.

We also saw several AS yesterday, I'd say I saw you! We where the white suburban with the aluminum canoe, and the 30 footer. The one time the wife left here camera in the trailer, we see the most airstreams ever.

We were at Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville, VA this weekend. We saw Airstream friends of ours, in a semi-planned get-together. But we also saw two other Airstreams there, a mid-90s ~27 foot or somewhere in that vicinity (it was shorter than our 30' but not by much), and a late model Airstream from California that also looked to be about 27'.

The California one was a bit spooky - the date on the parking tag on the truck indicated they were there beyond their check out date, and there was a note rolled up in the door handle that was there Saturday and Sunday. We never saw anyone around, but chairs were out like someone was there, the truck was there, and the bed of the truck had some scooters in it. I'm hoping for a reasonable explanation, such as they were elsewhere with another car and the tag was mis-labeled or something. I'm pretty sure the rangers were knocking on their door (we didn't - with the note rolled in the door it seemed pretty clear no one was there).

We were towing on I-24 S, just south of Nashville, TN.
We saw an new Airstream on I-24 N. It was about the same length as ours ('26 ft) and towed by a full size extended cab truck. (I think it was brown or tan.) You saw us too because you flashed your lights!

The rangers are pretty good on checking on you. Last week I was camping at Assateaque but had to leave for to nights. My camping neighbors did not see me around and informed the camp host and rangers. When I did not answer their knocks at the AS they called my house to see if I was OK.

I thought that was great of them.

While camping in GTNP last week this just one of many AS we saw in Yellowstone and Grand Teton.
We will be traveling home to Arkansas from Wyoming 8-3 & 4. Maybe someone will post a photo of us!

It is nice to meet folks in this forum. People are proud of their AS an enjoy the photos. I enjoy hearing about their journeys and learning about new places to travel.

Vancouver

I posted a few days ago saying I don't see many Airstreams in Canada. Well I was wrong. I was visiting my Gallery today on Granville St. In Vancouver and turned around just in time to see a newer model Airstream heading towards Downtown vancouver.
Now some might say "So What?" But there is something a bit more interesting seeing a nice shiny airstream. To me they have more style than a giant box with bad graphics splayed all across the sides. Ya I am an Airstream Snob HA!

Passed an Interstate this morning on LA 155 outside Friendship, LA. I waved and said howdy. If you're traveling through that neck of the you most likely have local knowledge or really trust your gps.

Hmmm, there don't seem to be many of us out there, but I know there are at least a couple in the Louisiana and Mississippi area.

We wave at every airstream and class B we see. Some wave back, some don't.

No idea of who/#, just a beautiful sight.

I rarely see them moving, but when I do, I wave like a crazy person. If you're ever on the Gulf Coast, I'm the crazy girl waving like I know you and smiling like an idiot ;D
