The last place I expected to see...but really hoped I would see...a familiar shape on the beach.
Aprox an hour south of Cancun, we wandered from our resort to a lovely nearby beach. Saw several sob box trailers, so naturally I had to snoop around.
Found an empty airstream. So I wandered down the beach and picked out the owners first shot (we are such a uniquely special group). After speaking with the most wonderful couple, I realized that I knew everything about their life and travels through their blog.

they had never met someone who read their blog, so we were all excited. it felt like we had been friends for an eternity. they let us all tromp through their trailer, even with eight pounds of sand in my bathingsuit.
it is so true...
airstream folks are friends you have not met yet.
thank you ever so much Richard and carol, safe travels.

That diner trailer looks like a '90s trailer, definitely not a '70. It's a widebody and has panorama windows.

Widebodies didn't begin until 1996, IIRC...

We're here at Ft Wilderness. There are three other Airstreams in our loop, and I've spotted a few through the trees. We also saw four on the way down here, all in all it's been a productive airstream spotting weekend so far.

I25 north of Denver, Northbound and I think it has Wyoming plates. Being towed by a red Chevy/GMC Suburban or Pickup. Crappy crop from trying to juggle the cell phone and get the shot before the exit.

345 Motor Home at Devils Den SP Arkansas

We spotted this long, long 345 moho with Arkansas plates checking in at Devils Den State Park in Arkansas this afternoon. I'd say they're off to a great Spring Break!

I know it's come through here before, but I did a quick search and didn't see this angle.

Well the wife and I just got home, we got a weekend pass from raising the grandkids (my daughter said we needed a break last Thursday night) so I didn't even think twice about taking her up on her offer, the wife went to work I took care of a few things here at the house and then proceeded to our storage unit and got the AS out of moth balls. The tongue jack was broke and with the wife at work and not going to join me until late that night I cruised on down to Camping World in Knoxville and got a new tongue jack as they was on sale and got it installed, (it even has a remote) then took the back roads to avoid traffic that I know is always bad at exit 407 on 40 and went on into Pigeon Forge to one of our favorite campgrounds called Riveredge, checked in set up the camper and walked around and did some visiting. Next morning while she was asleep I ran up to Dunkin Donuts got coffee and donuts and came back to the trailer. We sat talking out side as it was a beautiful morning, not too cold, just nippy is all but nice to set outside. We debated what all we was going to do, and then I got this bright idea that we would rent a Harley and go riding, after not having been on a bike since I had to give mine up per docs orders in 08 she was a little skeptical. So we decided to check it out, well that is all it took, we rented one I decided on the heritage softale instead of the dresser, and off we went. We went up town, then back downtown, then took off and went out through Wears Valley out towards Townsend, then back around and down through Gatlinburg back to Pigeon Forge grabbed a bite to eat and then to the camper for the night, I noticed that an AS Land yacht 365 had arrived that day, no one up so I did not bother them. Sunday morn with the intention of getting in a longer ride I woke up at 530 only to discover as I walked outside it started raining, got on the ham radio checked the weather and shore enough 90% rain until noon with a forecast of spotty rain and temps in the 40's, so that cancelled the bike when it the rain slowed to a drizzle I rode it back to HD so I was only charged for 1 day. Now normally the weather would not have stopped me, but we did not have our leathers and I was on a rented bike and I did not want to take any chances of damages or a wreck. So we spent the afternoon at different stores just looking around, while we did seen an AS go cruising by. Got back to the campground and here over on the next isle in front of the AS land yacht 365 MOHO, across from them the one that we seen earlier, it had WBCCI number 1927 on it, didn't get a chance to meet anyone as it looked like no one was home or had gone to bed. Monday morn went again to get coffee and when I got back both of them from the MOHO and the trailer was getting into a vehicle to leave so I still did not get a chance to talk. Packed up and came home.
