flood sighting

I just skimmed the photos of the Colorado flood. This, From Lyons stood out. Anyone of us?

Spotted one Boon-docking in Breckenridge, Colorado, as we rode the Gondola from peak 8.

Oh wow, that hurts to look at. Doesn't look like severe damage. Maybe they can salvage her to camp another day.

Yes, but a little west of there. I came down the RC road and camped at Bitteroot campground. It is beautiful is it not?

I got desperate. I have just returned from Fort Lauderdale and did not see a single Airstream. The young owners of this one certainly must have one in the future. For now, this must do, and they are very happy to be out there. On 95, north of Boca. Saturday. Jim

The sides are painted- trim and all- with a cool seal type roof coating product. The whole roof is covered with some thick black roofing tar. The banana wraps are all gone. There is nothing on the roof- no A/C, skylights- nothing.
I knew it was an old Airstream with a black roof a half a mile before I caught up to it.
Well I see fresh steel under the rear end, so it looks like it could be a work in progress. I would rather see a rough worn out AS still being used than have it sent to the scrap yard. With that many body issues, only a few brave folks would put the time and money into it.

Banff, AB, Canada

We saw many Airstreams during our stay from September 5-8, 2013. We didn't get pictures of all that we saw -- so much Aluminum!

Plates were from: Alberta, Saskatchewan, Oregon, California, and Florida.

I spotted one yesterday southbound on I-81 about 1:30-1:45, looked to be a 34, I think the numbers was 3484. I was sitting on the northbound side in stopped traffic due to an accident ahead where a UPS truck rear ended a camper. UPS driver was killed, family in camper seriously injured.

Thanks

Our son and his wife are in the Banff area and told us they saw 6 Airstreams in the campground. Thanks for posting, now we've seen them too.

Maybe some one sighted my 1958 Flying Cloud on I-205/I-5 southbound in Oregon with a flat tire. I spotted two newer AS while I was waiting for road service. It was scary watching traffic come around the corner at 65-70 mph.

Back home safely now in Lincoln City.

No photos, but we saw three this week while traveling in eastern NC.
First, a Bambi at Oregon Inlet Campground at the Hatteras National Seashore. I briefly spoke to the owner when we first walked by the trailer as we were going to register, but we never connected again.
Second, another Bambi at Frisco Campground, also in the HNS. Saw no one at this trailer.
Third, a 28-30' (?) followed me from Tarboro to Raleigh, NC, I blinked the head lights and we waved to each other.

I am at Camping World in Chattenooga TN, and there is a older AS MoHo here in the park. Have not seen anyone around since I got here last night.

I've been all over this week. Started it Sunday going to see the saints/bucs game in Tampa and almost missed the Airstream graveyard on the side of the interstate. No other sightings until today when I spotted a 30ish foot classic southbound on I-49 just south of Shreveport being pulled by a tan GM full-size SUV at about 1 pm. Then I spotted a late 60s early 70s looked to be ambassador towed by a black Tundra (I believe) exiting I-20 on the tech drive exit in Ruston, la. I was incognito in work vehicles both times, but waved anyway.

saw today just a bit of an older (possibly 70's) nice and shiny AS parked in Tuscaloosa at a lot in cottondale....wanted to go and meet them, since I will have my AS in 6 weeks...I would love to join the UA festivities from my AS one day perhaps. Did not have time to get a pic

After the flood

On Wednesday, I saw large single-axle AS towed by a white pickup pulling into the highway 66 road closure checkpoint near Lyons, Colorado. Either they were bringing in shelter to use during recovery/rebuilding, or they were some very out-of-touch tourists about to have their dreams of vacation in Rocky Mountain National Park dashed.

Spotted a Bambi headed east on I-26 near Hendersonville, NC a few minutes ago. TV was a white Toyota SUV.

Don and Kate (we think) heading east on I 20 near Augusta GA. A little hard to tell seeing only the back of the trailer.
