Airstream bingo on 101 South near Salinas! So far I've spotted an early 60s overlander?, a new model 25 footer or so, and a late 70s model. In the last hour. Is this the remains of a rally?

Last weekend we saw ~45 Airstreams at the Jackson Rancheria RV Park.... from brand new rigs to a 1949 vintage 13 panel.

....yes... It was the annual NorCal Fall rally, a great time was had by all!

Next weekend is the SoCal Fall rally in Kernville at the Rivernook CG. Looking like another great weekend is ahead of us...

RALLY ON!

Saw 3 Airstreams today.
First one was a 34' from FL parked (as host) at the Doughton Park campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Second was on the BRP just south of Doughton Park. We passed in a curve, so fast I barely had time to wave. A 16' ?? towed by a black? vehicle.
Third was on US421 headed south at North Wilkesboro. I think a 25' or 27'. I only saw it from the rear.

We were not towing today. Just a short trip for a few hours to see the fall colors, and the trees were beautiful!

Airstream Sighted in Arlington, VA

I was out walking my dog and saw this beauty newly parked on the street in my neighborhood. Is the owner by chance in the forums? Howdy new Airstream neighbor!

I saw a 60s tradewind or overlander going east on I90 near Big Timber, MT. They flashed the brights. I flashedback. Nice. Show the love!

23' International approaches Carmageddon Bridge

Spotted on the South-bound I-405 just about a mile north of the Mulholland Drive bridge. TV was a 4 door Toyota Tundra.

Rare Sighting

I have spotted a few Airstreams from the sky before. This was 1st one I have seen coming out of both sides of building. This is The Double Wide Grill on Rt228 north of Pittsburgh. Looks like a 60s Tradewind to me.

Saw a fairly new, ~28' Airstream headed north on US 65 today. It was in Urbana, MO about 3:30.

Looks like somebody has a "new" Airstream trailer. An older (60's?) model, maybe 24-26' is now at a farm on US 65 between Urbana and Preston. I was on the way to school, so I couldn't stop, but one of these days maybe I'll see someone there.

"argo"

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised when we went to see the movie, "ARGO" over the weekend, about the 6 US Embassy workers during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis -- and in one scene there is a 70's era Airstream -- non-Airstreamers and SOB owners would never spot it -- but easy enough to pick out by the interior and front end caps with "instrument cluster!" A real treat in the middle of a good movie.

I noticed that in the adds on TV. Same thing, a brief glimpse of the front cap interior.

A cute Safari with Flordia plates here at the KOA, mama-coach in the background. Weather is perfect, but we're expecting snow this weekend. About time for us to head to the deep desert for the winter.

Yesterday while going home I passed an orange early 70's VW Vanagan (Arizona plates) pulling a very early 16 ft or so Airstream. No numbers on the trailer. Both appeared to be in excellent condition, Heading east on Interstate I10 east of Biloxi, MS. All happened to fast to get a picture.

Fort Worth is getting weird

So on Montgomery in Fort Worth, there's a weird little building that used to be a gas station. It's been several odd things since we moved here, but it's frequently just sat empty. They're trying a "ditty shop" now, various decorative stuff for the house.

I went by today on my way for a haircut and they had a weirdly painted Tradewind (turned out to be a '69)

and a very shiny little whale-tail. I think the serial number was 287. That's all that was on the tag by the door, 3 numeric digits. It has a very nice period interior that I didn't think to photograph.

There was also a woman there starting to set up show in a '63 Shasta but my pictures of that one don't look great, and it's not an Airstream anyway. Apparently having the trailers there is some special event, they're not generally going to be set up there. Maybe something's happening at Will Rogers this weekend?

Wow!
If I'm not mistaken that is a Bolus trailer: Wally Byam's inspiration for creating the Airstream design.
Very rare.
