Airstreams In The Sierras

We spotted a 80's Airstream with the wide blue stripe, possibly an Excella, in Mariposa, California, parked at the junctions of highways 49 and 140 on Friday, June 11th.

Then we saw our old friend, possibly a 64 Safari or Tradewind, parked on a berm, overlooking highway 140. We pass it each time on our way to Yosemite.

While at the park, we spotted a 60's Airstream, California plate, ":6T_____LADY", on Saturday, June 12th headed west on Northside Drive.

And finally, we spotted a late model Airstream, possibly a 25 or 27 footer at Indian Flat RV Park in El Portal.

Last weekend spotted what looked to be about a 27-footer pulling out of a truckstop on I-20 in Columbia as I was pulling in to top the dually off with diesel. TV was a late model Suburban with a load of kayaks on the roof. Exchanged a wave with the folks in the front seat.

That makes a lot of sense. It was really fun to see them driving as a group - made me wish that we had our AS....

Saw two today while driving on I-70 between Columbia, MO and Williamsburg, MO. The first was west bound and was WBCCI #5003 I believe. The second was headed east bound and didn't have any numbers.

Theres been a small one parked along the north side of I-70 on the east side of Columbia, MO for quite a while. It looks like maybe an old Safari or Globetrotter.

basecamp sighting

My daughter is at ski camp at Mount Hood Oregon this week with her high school team (as if Vermont winters aren't long enough!!!). She sent me this photo via her phone with the message "hey Mom-I think this is an airstream!" She couldn't find any one to give a thumbs up to but I thought I would post it anyway. Very cute set up!

Airstream parked on its side, July 5th, 2010, I-25 South bound about a mile North of the Anheuser Bush brewery, Colorado. We were returning from a few days in Spearfish SD, driving on a service road so I didn't get a good look but there it was, parked on its side tow vehicle white truck of sorts jack knifed. Looked like the passing lane was blocked, and traffic was backed up for at least a mile in front of the wreck. Anyone know the details?

BTW, they don't look good parked on their side.
Hope no one was hurt.

Cool MN Bound?

We got a quick look at a beautiful AS Classic Motorhome -
- in Iowa northbound on I-35 headed to the Minnesota border
Airstream should make more of these -IMHO
Anyone agree?
