I-35 north of Denton, Texas headed North.

That baby was smokin'. A late model ...probably a Safari...I could not catch it to see. Speed limit 65 and, no kidding, he was towing at nearly 80. Friday afternoon and trying to get away...hope he makes it all the way.

Who hasn't wanted to do that?

Long week at work. All you've done all week is count down to leaving town. You finally say enough is enough on Friday and walk out the door. Jump in the truck and haul tail to the Airstream. Hook up and get the heck out of dodge.

Please just get me to the woods!!

Of course you have to be careful that you don't get halfway and realize you forgot your wife!

That's why we have checklists.
-Pull chocks

-Pick up wife...

Saw two at Lake Bob Sandlin State Park in East Texas this weekend. One, a 67 from Mesquite, Texas. Got to talk with owner for a bit, compared notes on how much more pleasant it is to drive the back roads of Texas instead of dodging 18 wheelers on the interstates.

the other, looked like it was a 28-30 foot newer model pulled by a Tundra. I waved as they pulled in Saturday afternoon, but they picked a site in the other end of the campground and by the time I walked over Sunday morning to say Hi.... they were long gone.

And our Safari made it through a real toad strangling line of thunderstorms Saturday night and kept us thoroughly warm and dry. Tent campers next door bugged out about 2:30 a.m. Must have just thrown all the wet stuff in the back of the pickup and skeedaddled.

This weekend !0/22/11 I spotted a pink polka dotted airstream while in Pa. It is advertising PinkNation.com, some type of marketing campaign for Victories Secret. I know Airstream are hip and trendy but not everything is a good idea.

a 31 ft 10970's pulled into our OKC campsite last night. it has a black tongue, black trim, and even black around the back lights. It also appears they might a little ones but so far they've not been seen. We haven't wanted to knock on the door yet since they must have gotten in late.

Spotted this 2012 on display at the RVIA show in Pomona, CA. I didn't see any holes from a missing lid. Is this really the way the Sport models are coming out of JC now days?

No lid and it looks a little "puckered" on the end.

What was that quote of Wally's...."we don't make changes, we make...

Hi, yes Bob, but Wally isn't running the show any longer so............

Or, it seems to me, from what I have read on this forum, the improvements are made by the owners now.

Yup, otherwise go back to the Mothership. I've talked with numerous newer AS owners since we've been here; all of them have had issues.

I'm thinking I could do at least that good in my garage, without any metalworking tools.

SmokelessJoe's Argosy24 means I'll never feel like I'm "done" with ours, because I'm never likely to get as far as he has! It's a gorgeous trailer, I hope I get to see it in person someday. I already had soft pano protectors made by the same company he used for his (and I'm very happy with the service and product from Hornsby Canvas in Tillsonburg, Ontario.)
