We spotted this oldie, #4637, along SW Palatine Hill Rd in SW Portland OR while doing the Tour de Lab bike ride Sunday, Sept 13. We think its the oldest A/S we've yet seen.

Then on Monday, Sept 14, we spotted a northbound white Ford with an A/S that had 2 bikes on the rear bumper near Woodburn as we were southbound.

I saw you visited the Dam also, but couldn't find you.

Anyway, it was a Wally Byam Caravan'ing AS and I think it was a '52.

Wish we could've met!
Looks like an 18 footer. The 7-panel end caps indicate it is 1957 or later. The wheel well shape was only used from 1959 to 1961.

I'm thinking is is a '59 or '60 18-footer, often called a "Traveler" but there was no badge (look at the various trailers following these links and you'll see some with similar window arrangements):

Cup Cakes anyone?

They put this one up close to us. I would like to know how much renovation it took to get it in shape to use like this? Nice to look at as we drive in to town.

Saw this lonley little lady on Hwy 1 near Simsport La. Someone seemed to be living in it. No one home when I took pic.

Delonega, GA, at the Six Gap Century. September 27, 2009.
There was a 25' 72 Safari that was a rolling coffee house.
Here is their website:
cycling coffee : cafe : cafe:ine : Where It's All About The Chemistry®
It was mainly gutted except for the bath. There were some cobbled together cabinets and the necessities for making coffee drinks. Pretty rough looking but the coffee was wonderful!
They are refurbishing a GMC MH for a rolling coffee house first and will properly tackle the Safari next. They bought it in its present condition.
I told the guy he needed to check out the forums.

We pulled into the Twin Mountains KOA in NH two weeks ago and ran into a New England Caravan (forget the real name of it.) It was a real surprise for us and a puzzle to the parkers until they realized we were not one of them.

Nice to see a bunch of Airstreams from all over though. Nice folks and we were sorry we couldn't stay and visit longer.

Pat

We drove past a cozy-looking, newer model AS last night, all lit up as we passed a darkened RV park in Santa Nella, California. We continued on to Marina Dunes near Monterey, and are there the rest of today before heading to the Costanoa KOA.

Trojan Airstream Horse

Wells Fargo Bank, Sacramento, CA

Just found out that this Horse Sculpture by Deborah Butterfield was previously an Airstream . . . it's hard to tell what year or model though, and I don't think the "Photo Archives" are going to help.
