Just passed an Airstream on hwy 63 west right outside of Jasper, TX. Tan Ford. Looked like a Excella. Big red numbers. Think it was 8857, not real sure.
Was a nice looking rig!

I'm returning from a week at Zion Watchman campground and a couple more nights at Zion River Resort. At these locations saw two Airstreams pulled by Mercedes SUVs, and maybe 4 other larger units pulled by pickup trucks. Saw one nice 1973 model in Watchman. I also saw two 16' Bambi models.

Its great to be out in the Airstream.

It's a cupcake trailer in Fort Worth. The sign says "Bar-B-Que Sandwiches Cupcakes" but the guy's been selling some extra stuff on the local craigslist (too-heavy generator, sno-cone machine he didn't have room for, etc.) and he calls it a cupcake trailer. He parks on Rosedale north of the hospitals.

Couple of sightings on this weekend's trip up I-44 from Springfield to St. Louis and back.
One in a campground around Waynesville, MO looked like it'd been there a while.
The other was in Belleville Mobile Home Park and RV Estates in Fenton, MO (where we stayed). The owner said it was a mid 70's 25' and was for sale. He put in an electric fridge and a window a/c.

That was us parked at the Flying J in Sullivan, we were walking the dog!

Yesterday an Airstream motorhome followed me for a few miles. There was no way they could have known that I was interested, but if you were driving south on US 65 near Urbana, MO, I was the Mountaineer in front of you that made a left turn and then stopped.

Saw you Saturday PM, southbound on HWY 321 just north of York, S.C. Red Chevy P/U pulling a late model maybe 28' stream. Great looking combo. I was on my tractor mowing the field as you went by, wishing I was out there with you. I waved. S.C. plates on the trailer. Who are you?

to Maine

On the way to Maine we passed an Airstream on 287 just south of the Tappanzee bridge, later we passed an Arogosy, this would have been Monday the 19th. Tues we passed another Airstream, this time a motorhome on route 1 in the Wells Maine area, we saw several Airstreams in driveways, two in Bucksport, just after the right hand turn onto route 3 north. Happy travels!! MPJ

I was headed to do some work on my 1959 Overlander yesterday and saw this rig headed towards Lake Lure/Chimney Rock on Hwy 64/74 in North Carolina. It had NC plates, so it might have been headed home from who knows where or maybe a stay in the mountains for the weekend.

Nice Classic Excella, WA plates, pulled in here at the KOA next to us. Love that rear awning! Is that approved leveling?

Our new Spartan Manor

In the parking lot of Wegman's in Canandaigua, NY on Saturday, our new Spartan Manor. I had just picked it up about a half hour before. It's a 1946 that has been sitting on a property for decades. You can see the chimney on the top where they had installed a wood stove. The inside is pretty much trashed with things either being removed or through water damage, but it does have the original stove, fridge and bathroom. The exterior is in pretty good shape, a few scratches on the front and a dent on the lower front curb side, but nothing too bad considering it's 65 years old.
Shortly after this picture was taken we replaced the tires with newer ones that I had taken off the Sovereign, and hooked up the brakes, which worked! I didn't try to get any of the lights working, just hung some temporary lights on the back.
I'm still working on our '74 Sovereign, so this will be a project for the future!

Spotted in N Houston

Spotted this in a back yard in N. Houston today. Curb side window gone, door open, shell not tto bad on curb side. Can't get a good look at the street side. I imagine water has gotten in, ya think? Don't know how long it's been there, but not too overgrown, just blocked in by piles of metal sheeting.

Had to comment on this....The WBCCI #ers on this one are very close to the original numbers on mine - 13348...Very interesting. I found mine in a 68 registry, so I know these are some old numbers..

Argosy sighting

I saw this Argosy last week, Sept. 20, on the PA turnpike headed east near the Oakmont service plaza. I took two pictures from my truck and one while he was pulling into the service plaza.

That's CRAZY! You never think you'll see your own rig on here! My Nephew's shop is in Rutherfordton just a few miles up from where I took that photo! It took a number of trys to get that shot! Glad you saw it. Nice Rig!!! She looks steady going down the road.
