Who was that masked man?
As I merged onto I77 today in Rock Hill SC I saw passing in a flash WBCCI#31592. It was a tandem axle TT but other than that and a white license plate that was the last I saw. Tried in vain to catch up to wave but he was moving at 70+ and I only had two exits to go.
I only see AS's moving against my direction most days and then they're gone. This was a closer near miss.
Live tonight from Wal-Mart in West Charlotte NC...

If you are talking about the stream you pass over on the way to Hawley Lake, no. I pass it every year (Memorial Day) and say that I need to fish here. We were at Cyclone Lake which is just North and East of Hawley. It's a rent a lake.

I don't have a pic but, I saw a mid 70's single axle going south on I-5 here in Portland that had been rear ended. Was being pulled by a newer yellow Ford. Sure was a shame to see that much damage. The whole back end was caved in.

Chris---I think you could be on to something---I am seeing the same thing east of the Cascade Mountains. On the way from centeral Ore (Redmond) to Wasco, to the north about 120 miles, I saw seven silver pull-behinds, and one classic 345 MOHO!
I'll watch this side of the mountains if you will watch that side. Rumor has it that the main invasion force may hit Salem!!!!!!!!

Oregon, Hwy 101, North of Coos Bay, I saw my first probable International Rally Airstream. #16437, if I have the numbers right. The directory shows them from Austin, TX. I hope to see more!

#19264, at least in a former life, a mid-seventies international 31 (I think) that looks like a work in which the progress that hasn't started yet, is sitting across from me in the RV park! Not a soul around, but I'll find out who they are... and what brings them to the edge of the swamp.

I was out today looking for an address, and came across a shop with a 1959 Pacer parked outside. (Not for sale) They also had an 86 Excella which might be for sale, but not "yet".

We've been seeing "rally Airstreams" all week. That's because we are camped at the Washington Land Yacht Harbor in Lacey.
Tomorrow 3 caravans ... about 60 Airstreams ... will be pulling in ... all on their way to the International.
Heard a rumor here that only a little more than 1,000 members were registered for the International. Can anyone confrim or debunk this?

Met a nice couple this past weekend on their way from Macon, Ga. to Red Top Mountain State park. They had pulled over here in McDonough to grab a cup-o-Joe. 1970 Overlander that they bought from the original owner in 1980. Been Streamin' ever since. Told 'em about the Forum, BTW. Maybe they'll join us.

Speaking of Airstream sightings ...
About 30 units or more pulled into the Washington Land Yacht Harbor today ... all on their way to Salem for the International.
Two groups from Canada ... Ontario, B.C. & Saskatchewan ... and another group from New England ... everyone here has a funny accent.
Somehow I got roped into helping folks park. Spotted this litle polished gem ... a '59 I believe ...

Wasting Away...
Well my son and I went for a bike ride last night armed with the digital camera. Here are some pics of one that has been left to rot away in an industrial park near us. PM me if you want me to try to get info...it's skin looks great except for the bump on the left rear top corner. Awnings are huge!! Inside what I could see looks pretty bad. Axles will need replacing. I tried to clean off serial for deciphering. Prob best for parts...

interesting indeed......I am becoming quite the AS slueth

Much to my dismay found out today that this is not an Airstream but an mid 50's Avion.....did the door knock and was told at the door it was for sale for $1200. I couldn't walk around the back of it fast enough to look for it's name plate...what a bummer not to see AIRSTREAM. Well if anyone's interested I have the owners phone number...skin in great shape, even peaked inside to see the lovely pink stove . Has a small upper left rear ding. Original owner is relocating so it has to move. Said he put two new tires on it 2 yrs ago.

We went to Ft. Wilderness over the 4th of July week end and I saw about 4 different units ranging from '60's to new. My wife said she saw others on her quest for ice. I didn't go into all of the loops myself so unfortunately I didn't get to see as much aluminum as she did.
It might be nice to organize a forum ralley at Ft. Wilderness sometime. I bet their Magical Gatherings could arrange putting all of us in the same loop together.
