I forgot to mention that on my trip up to CT from FL I saw eleven AS's (when I was able to see the southbound lanes!) Everything from a very short- shorter than a Bambi I think? To quite long- maybe Sovereign of the Road? The biggest # were seen in SC. Two were very vintage, most were 70-present yr models. This was on Saturday and Sunday of January 29 & 30th on I-95.

I saw one at Lake Casitas here over the weekend, wanted to stop and see if they were Forum folks, but there was no one around the campsite.

Dad called me today with a sighting of his own. He was running about 75 on I-10 East between the Alabama line and Pensacola when a VW Touareg towing a late model Safari PASSED him. Shortly thereafter, the driver attempted to pass an 18-wheeler on the right. The 'truck suck' caught his rig, and he took up both lanes trying to get it back under control. Needless to say, he slowed down considerably. I hope whoever this happened to learned that a valuable lesson from that experience. Luckily, no one was hurt and there was no accident, but that could have been a very serious situation.
There's no shame in taking it slow and letting the rest of the traffic pass you by. Part of the Airstream experience is the drive to get to your destination. Slow down and take in your surroundings. The American highway, after all, is as much a cultural icon as the shiny aluminum trailers we so cherish. The combination of the two is something quite magical. Don't squander it by making that trip to your next destination just another day in the ray race.
Okay, I'm stepping down off my soap box now. Drive safe folks! See you at the campground!

It's always interesting to go by a combination that got a little "loose". She is usually giving him the "what for" and he's making no eye contact with anyone (with both hands firmly on the wheel).

Lol! True. I've seen those looks a few times in my travels over the years. You can almost predict the conversation between driver and passenger once she stops giving him the silent treatment.

Yeah, The wife has never actually made a comment but I am surprised the carpet in front of her seat isn't worn out from her pushing the invisible brake pedal.

I was able to get my wife to tow our Jet Skiis around the school parking lot and she did wonderfully but I think she was a nervous wreck. When I mentioned her towing the AS, she declined. And I would let her tow it but I would probably be more than she wanted as a back-seat driver HAHAHA!
I want her to know how so if nothing else, she is able to get me to the hospital in an emergency while towing!
