Yesterday when touring the Frank Lloyld Wright House, Kentuck Knob, we spotted two vintage Airstreams, at least of of which has 13 segements in the front. The two AS's were parked along with some vintage cars near a barn. I searched the web and found that Lord Palumbo, the owner of Kentuck Knob, does indeed have two vintage Airstreams in his collection, but they only refernece was that they were stored at the Farnsworth House in Ill. that Lord Palumbo also owns.
Does anyone know, has the Lord moved his Airstreams to Kentuck Knob (near Ohiopyle Pennsylvania) or are thest perhaps two new additions to his collection?
We stopped by your site but you were out and about.
Awwww, really sorry I missed you - I was either walking the dog having a tour of Bob and Claudia's or having dinner next door in my friend's MH. Hope to meet you sometime.

Reason: repaired quote
Had to stop for the light at 32nd and Indiana Avenue in Joplin, Mo today in time to see an Argosy go thru on 32nd st, looked like a 22' in bad need of a paint job! Being towed by a silver and maroon SUV, couldn't catch the plates. Cream on the top and tan on the bottom, probably a 74-76 by the taillights,

No worries, I'm sure we will meet in the future. The NEU has a spring rally at Salisbury every year (I know this for a fact because I'm the host). If you'd like to hook up with us you are more than welcome to attend, just PM me for the dates. BTW, you do not need to belong to the WBCCI to join us for this rally, we welcome all Airstreamers.

Looking for a WBCCI Unit filled with fun loving folks to camp and travel with in the New England area? Well, you've just found it:
We went to Ft. Wilderness this past weekend for the Food and Wine Festival and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and ran into fellow forum member SilverCabin at Ft. Wilderness. We also saw three additional Airstreams and Sunday afternoon when we returned to the campground there was a larger rear bedroom Argosy motor home parked in the parking lot with the door open.
We drove down from Atlanta on Friday and back on Monday and I counted three northbound Airstreams on Friday and four southbound Airstreams on Monday. This was not a holiday weekend or even really a "repositioning" weekend but I saw plenty of SOB travel trailers and motor homes so people are traveling despite the cost of fuel this year or the economic meltdown we are facing.

My wife and I were just watching TV when we saw a 1970's Airstream on "Pushing Daisy's". Also a "red" Spartan. It's sad when such a small hint of aluminum makes your day.
We were coming out of the local (west side of Nashville, TN) home depot and our way home, when hubby spied an airstream parked in a strip center perking lot across the road. We made a U-turn and pulled over only to find it was owned by fellow air Forums members, Moosetags!
This was our first time meeting fellow Air Forums folks in person. What a treat!
It was a pleasure to meet y'all. Hope you had safe travels back home.
Coming home from Salisbury Beach, Mass today, I was poking up I-95 somewhere between the Mass border and Portsmouth NH and was passed by an Airstream with Maine plates towed by a green pickup - who tooted as they went by!
I have seen a lot of them at the Land Yacht Harbor in Melbourne Florida. Airstreams are coming in all the time and in no time all 304 sites will be filled. Happy wintering in Florida.
Saw a late model Safari being towed by a really sharp 3/4 ton Dodge, just south of Rochester MN on US 52. Followed them all the way to Inver Grove Heights. We went left and they went right.
Looked in my mirror a few miles further and there they were behind us! Finally separated at the SW corner of I-494. Total tracking distance - 90 miles.
