Delonega, GA, at the Six Gap Century. September 27, 2009.
There was a 25' 72 Safari that was a rolling coffee house.
Here is their website:
cycling coffee : cafe : cafe:ine : Where It's All About The Chemistry®
It was mainly gutted except for the bath. There were some cobbled together cabinets and the necessities for making coffee drinks. Pretty rough looking but the coffee was wonderful!
They are refurbishing a GMC MH for a rolling coffee house first and will properly tackle the Safari next. They bought it in its present condition.
I told the guy he needed to check out the forums.

We pulled into the Twin Mountains KOA in NH two weeks ago and ran into a New England Caravan (forget the real name of it.) It was a real surprise for us and a puzzle to the parkers until they realized we were not one of them.

Nice to see a bunch of Airstreams from all over though. Nice folks and we were sorry we couldn't stay and visit longer.

We drove past a cozy-looking, newer model AS last night, all lit up as we passed a darkened RV park in Santa Nella, California. We continued on to Marina Dunes near Monterey, and are there the rest of today before heading to the Costanoa KOA.

Trojan Airstream Horse

Wells Fargo Bank, Sacramento, CA

Just found out that this Horse Sculpture by Deborah Butterfield was previously an Airstream . . . it's hard to tell what year or model though, and I don't think the "Photo Archives" are going to help.

Ut & co

On Oct 10, we spotted a couple of 'streams near Moab, UT headed north, Managed to wave at the 'hi' at the first one and got a wave back.

Then we passed through Cortez, and spotted these 2 right after we got gas. Too bad they weren't open, or we would have stopped for a cup of joe.

Airstream sighting, Ohiopyle

Here's a picture of an Airstream sighted in Ohiopyle PA on Oct. 10th. The truck had a California license plate on it and the trailer had a Texas license plate. These folks were far from home!

I was in Bellflower CA yesterday checking on my 2001 boxy non AS when I decided to cruz thru the rest of the RV storage place looking for AS's.. This place has about 300 sites and only 1 AS in the whole bunch. (but there was one Avion? by Fleetwood -- one of the AS clones for sale -- an '86 model -- I'll stick with the real McCoy when the time comes). It's a 50's model of some sort -- single axle, pretty rough looking, hadn't moved in a number of years. I'll take a pic next time I'm over there (likely this weekend).

We've been on the road a few days from L.A. to San Francisco, and have seen several silver bretheren. First we saw a nice Bambi driving through Laguna Hills on Moulton a few times while at my parents. A cute 75th Anniversary Bambi was parked next to us in Marina Dunes RV park near Monterey - I popped in for a talk with the nice couple from Berkeley.

Making our way into Santa Cruz yesterday we saw a newer 16 footer in a storage lot on the west end of town. Later we saw this not-so-loved 70's model in a driveway, and another little Bambi or Safari Sport, 17-ish feet in a driveway in the north part of town.

Getting up this morning in a torrential downpour at the Costanoa KOA in Pescadero, we noticed this big trailer near ours and swung around for a quick photo.

While rolling through Pacifica this afternoon, we saw a 64 or 65 Globe Trotter and pulled over for a closer look. No tanks, I'm guessing it's a work in progress.

Tonight, pulling into the Petaluma KOA, we passed WBCCI number 8344, a 34-ish trailer with a nice slide-out.

Looking forward to seeing many more as we continue up towards Mendocino tomorrow!

As my wife travel up and down the road we say "Airstream Alert" whenever we see a silver beauty pass by. We saw quite a few this past week going south as we traveled north on I-65 in Kentucky.

Airstreams in York, PA

I attended the Train Collectors Association (TCA) train meet in York, PA this past week. I found five other Airstreams camped on the fairgrounds besides my own. They were from Michigan, New Jersey (2), New York, and one unknown. Here they are:
