Hello All:

Im in a postion to be able to purchase a fairly long airstream trailer. It has been gutted out and the shell looks to be in good condition.
Has anyone seen a airstream restored with a all wood interior?? Also where would I be able to find some of the paneling for the walls at.
The floor seems to be in fair condition, possibly a new door gasket and new heater and appliances. There are some good possibilties for this project.

Welcome to the forum.

The nice thing about an A/S is that the "furniture", meaning all the interior walls and everything else inside, is independent of the shell. That means that you can design and build whatever will fit. Probably the only real limitation is the location of ribs to suspend upper cabinets.

There have been several threads on this forum pertaining to wood interiors, some with photos. I suggest you use the search option to locate these threads.

One suggestion was to use wood on the linear portions and use overhead cabinets at the ends where it would be difficult to panel.

Yes I agree about lots of possibilities. You say long so I assume you are talking about a 27 to 31 ft. model. Do you have any idea what year and floor plan it is/was? Where is/was the toilet?
Are the two or three holding tanks still aboard?

You ask about interior walls. Is the inner skin still there at all?
Is it metal or wood? Has the wiring been removed?

Lots of considerations. I always think of prices in Alaska being higher that most states, but depending on answers to what I asked I have to guess a value somewhere between 500 and 2000 dollars for the shell,continental UsA.

Tires 100 each, axles 1000 each, HotWaterHeater 400, Furnace 500??, refer 300-1800, just a few ballpark figures.Air Cond. Not needed

Cabinetmaking skills would be a real asset. Patience an even greater one. Electrical skill also necessary or contractable.Sheet metal experience a real plum!
Lastly any interior builds need strength at minimum weight, with just a bit of flexibility built in or at least expected after a few 100 miles. And remember that the upper walls & cabinets have that curved line so plumb is a whole new 'dimension'.

Now if its to become a parker-only plans could be a bit different.

There are surely some amazing success stories I have seen on the web. No reason yours can't be another. Good Luck and don't be afraid to ask anything, and don't get discouraged if there is no immediate answer.
