Liven up the look of a mobile home. Brian Burkhart joins Christopher to explain the history and design of the famous Airstream trailer and leads a tour of his restored 1963 Airstream model.
Hmm I may have to fake an illness to get out of work. LOL. I'd have my wife tape it but I don't have the VCR routed through the cable box........OHHHHh wait that's Channel 44 here it could tape it no problem.
Shoot her a e-mail.
Thanks for the tip

I have my satellite search scout always on the lookout for anything Airstream. Last week it found an HGTV show called "Small Spaces" and an interior designer had a '72 30ft AS. It was unbelievable, did anybody else catch it?
All I can say is I want the wrap around L-shaped couch now...
I faithfully watch A & E's "House Beautiful" on the weekends I've opportunity. The series is in a bit of a spin due to a limited number of episodes so they do replay them often. Anyhow, they also covered an Airstream re-do. It has a beautiful interior and a fabulous budget to match, I'm sure. The episodes are available for purchase through A&E.
Thanks for the heads up! My nice wife taped it for me. They did a pretty good job on it. Show will probably attract even more interest to them. It was neat to see the Wilsonart trailer. That was the original prototype for the new International CCD's. BTW, in case, by some chance there is anyone who didn't know, it was Bryan Burkhart's Flying Cloud (which was shown on the show) that was used as the model for the Pottery Barn A/S model.

I understand the quote "if you dont have something good to say...." but I gotta say it.
I was a lttle disappointed in the airstream from Mr Burkhart. The trailer left A LOT to be desired.
I believe that there are airstreams on this forum that would have been ten times the candidate for that show today.
Mr Burkhart's trailer has a long way to go! Did you see the swirls in that finish? Also the interior was about a 6 on a 1 to 10 scale, ( I am being liberal), considering his credentials. It had nice cabinetry but it did not knock me over.
It started off with a bang and quickly went down hill. I was apalled at the swirls. What in the world did he use on it? He did a nice job on the book for sure, but better examples of physical trailers could have been easily located. I know from some of the pictures from rallies that some people have really gone the extra mile to have a 40 year old trailer that looks like it just rolled off the assembly line.
As for the laminate one-- I was wondering if he got the idea for the overhead cabinets from the new ccd, now I know it was the other way around! Before last week I also thought laminate was a tough but cheap surface material. Now I know its just a tough surface material.
As for the make over of his trailer, ummm i think I better leave that one alone as individual tastes vary quite a bit.
That Christopher Lowell dude is quite a character, he had me chuckling.
Hi Guys,
I have a note to myself about a PBS feature during the March pledge drive. It's something like: "American Pastime-Travel Trailers" along with "great section on airstreams". It's been weeks since I wrote it & I no longer remember where it came from. (I'm in Mighigan and don't know how PBS selections compare in other states/regions)
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO IN THIS ? ?
suz

It's Mobile America-History of the RV...It'll be aired in the Grand Rapids, Flint & Marquette areas, if you are in Detroit area, you'll have to beg someone to tape it or buy it from the producer after March pledge month.
