FLYFSHR is right. I contacted Rich regarding my "lost" subscription via email, and first thing this morning I had a response, and the promise of an expedited delivery. I can hardly wait for it to arrive...I am gnawing on a piece of aluminum in anxious anticipation. If the mag is a good as the customer service, it will be winner.

I got mine today; I'm excited! Something to elbow my husband in bed about! Read this!

Got mine.
Nice magazine.
Wish it was monthly not quarterly.
It is a little pricey per issue on a quarterly basis in my opinion...maybe it will develop into larger issues or go to a bi-monthly or monthly format.

I agree, quarterly it should be about 1/2 the price it is now. I do hope they expand to a monthly publication as it is interesting reading................

Thought I'd ask these again. Must have been ignored for some good reason, right?

Thanks for the answers to the other two questions though.

I'd like to add a few questions to Roadeo's:

1) Was a debut copy, wrapped in reflective aluminum, sent to the Hubble Space Station? If not, why?

2) If I want to reserve Issue #7, single copy only, will the publisher bring it to my house?

3) My great-aunt Spigella plans to take a 5-year cruise on the QE2. Will she be able to either A) get it at the ship newsstand or B) find a copy in Bora Bora?

4) Does it come with a candy bar? It ought to ...

Roadeo, thanks for your interest. To answer your questions:

Airstream Life is not available on newsstands and never will be. It's too narrow-focused to capture the attention of mass-market outlets. However, it may be available through your local Airstream dealer. Ask them if they'll carry it. Otherwise, the only way to get it is to subscribe!

We don't sell single copies, only because the order-processing costs (credit card/PayPal fees, non-bulk postage costs, handling, etc.) would make it unprofitable. We'd have to charge about $15 for a single copy to make it worthwhile. But I should point out that current subscribers can get extra copies at a discount if they inquire through our website. (Minimum order of 3 copies, and sorry, we don't have any wrapped in plastic left.)

Issues are not sold in the Airstream store at this time. Perhaps someday they will be, but that will be the decision of Airstream, not the publisher (me). (A lot of people don't realize that we are entirely separate organizations.)

JohnG and Dsclucfc, thanks for the praise. Airstream Life will go to a longer format in a few issues. We plan to add increments of 16 pages periodically. But please don't confuse this magazine with Trailer Life or any other mass-interest magazine. Trailer Life (for example) has a quarter-million subscribers, the content is less focused, the paper quality is lousy, and the magazine is filled with ads. Airstream Life is a niche publication with about 1/100th the circulation, and about 1/10th the ad content!

When you look at it that way, it's amazing you can get a year of a really good 64-page full color magazine printed on high-quality paper entirely about Airstreaming for less than a tank of gas! Enjoy...

Rich-
Content is more important than paper quality in my opinion.
Double the content and half the paper quality would not bother me a bit.
I am accustommed to Time, Newsweek, Insurance Professional Journals, travel magazines, and other publications that are not as high a quality of paper, but the content is there....which is why I subscribe to a publication in the first place.
I am pleased that you plan to increase the size as time goes by.
Perhaps you might also find a way to go to 8 issues per year by publishing bi-monthly in the March-April, May-June, July August, September-October issues, and publishing monthly in November, December, January, and February issues?
These winter months of monthly issues would be in our mailboxes during the non-camping months when readership would be more intense as we can't get out and go as much in the Winter so we would sit at home and drool over Airstream Life.

dscluch ....

... can you enlighten us as to the size & paper quality of the premier issues of time, newsweek, or what did you call it, the insurance profession journals?

Rich, I send a way-over-the-top vote for quality over quantity, especially if we must perforce be compared to insurance tabloids.

$32 PRICEY???? are you folks out of your nuts? i spent that on a tulip bulb once & it only came around one a year, much less 4. and no negotiating with the tulip bulb neither.

No thanks Rluhr if I want to go on a snipe hunt I'll pick the season and the prey.Afraid you'll have to convince them to carry it. Just kidding.
Actually I'll be pleased to mention it to them. Now when he asks if there is a consignment or buy back deal, or what the margin he might make is, what do you want me to tell him. Is there a dealer-sales number to call.
Will my commish be paid in quarterly? Can I have a draw? Do you offer health insurance?

I'll just wait and find one to look at and if I like it I'll gladly subscribe.

Now to the forum's Matron of Malevolence, a virtual fountain of enmity, from deep within her palace of malice...Summerkid, I must admit that I had decided that if you were ever to adorn the center fold even semi provocatively, I would buy 50 subscriptions to spare at least that small number of my fellow men. But then it dawned on me, why bother. You show your arse right here on the forum at least once a month. No staples!

And as for dear old Spigella, I suspect she'll be in Bora Bora long before you actually aquire one of your imagined Airstreams or find your Mr.Goodbar.

OK Rich....double the paper quality of Summerkid's issue, and cut the content down by half to 34 pages. He won't mind.

I subscribe to the publications of The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors- The Advisor, and to The Journal of Financial Services Professionals published by The Society of Financial Service Professionals.
They are NOT tabloids...just very dry reading on the more advanced applications of life insurance and financial planning.
