Airstream Life.....

I had put off subscribing for months. I’ll do it next week….next week…next week. I’d been to the national chain bookstores looking at RV rag sheets and was generally feeling that they were lacking.....sort of all black and white in a world of color. I’d read here on the forum what folks were saying and said, yeah, I gotta try it…….

We’ll last week I finally put finger to keyboard and subscribed to Airstream Life. I have barely put them down since they arrived today. This magazine is unreal. It captures every aspect of our community. Heck, folks from here participate. Their work is everywhere. It’s not just some publishing company dishing out a magazine giving you what they think you want, it’s a ground up magazine giving us what we want, with actual folks from all walks of the Airstream Community. From John Irwin’s Mega Magazine Rack to Alan’s famous Classic Motorhome in the fog picture. Lots of info on a lot of what we talk about here from grilling, to trips, to complete renovations, to upcoming Airstream products, etc.

I can’t believe I waited so long to subscribe.

Nice plug SilverTwinkie.
I too have put off the inevitable, but soon I must. Always hoped I'd see a copy somewhere first. Never did. I asked at a dealer once, they never heard of it. Seems like the dealer network would be a good place to sell a few copies.
You talk like you got alot of issues at once. Did you order all the back issues?
Are all of them still available?

So what do you do at the Sears' Tower? Is that your home or office?
I always wondered if Sears has their corporate offices there? Or have those been moved to a portable building out behind some K-Mart store?

Oh BTW do you still have an Airstream? I'm thinking I read you sold out?

Well, it wasn't meant so much as a plug, but to share my total shock at how something meshed so well with a passion I have....camping and owning an Airstream. I do still have our Safari and though I've considered an upgrade, I still remain fairly passionate about the brand. For a few years now, I've had my hands on several other RV mags and not only do most not even bring up Airstream, the just didn't have 1/8 of what I got in one issue of Airstream Life. I did get a few back issues with the current issue and they are all great reads and one thing I found really interesting is that a good number of folks on this forum like you and I contribute to the magazine making it even more useful with real owners sharing real life exp, not to mention that the publisher, also a forums member runs the show.

I just put Sears Tower on there and planned on rotating city landmarks. Most here say we're from Chicago, but most of us Airstreamers don't live in the city, we're suburbanites, but it's easier to say Chicago than one of the suburbs.

As for Sears and their corporate home, Sears sold the building several years ago and moved to a fairly LARGE campus in a western suburb of Chicago called Hoffman Estates.

We just got ours last month and share your opinion Twink, it's great reading such a well done magazine devoted to our love of Airstreams and if I can make a suggestion, get all the back issues....we're sure glad we did!
