Airstream Homecoming Festival!
The Official Airstream Homecoming Festival!
Has anyone seen this on the Airstream web page? I have not seen anyone mention this.

I heard the Homecoming Festival is going to be really a fun event.
It is going to be open to anyone that owns an Airstream, not just WBCCI members. I am going!

I took a look a the PDF flyer they linked to the site and it said it's open to ALL Airstream owners.
So, to me, if you have an Airstream, it moves and you can take it to the homecoming, you can go.

We're considering it. I have some warranty work to be done and what better time to kill two birds with one stone.... meet some more great Airstream folks and get some stuff fixed by the folks that built it!

Boy this would be a fun first outing with ours! Take the old girl back to where she was born.
I am just wraping up a bunch of other things that have not alowed me to work on our 59. Have a Tree guy finishing up today removing a 90ft pine that is next to our drive where we park the 59 and the roofer starts tomorrow.
Our camper and Suburban have been in my neighbors drive since Saturday. First time the two have been joined and I must say they look great as a pair.

I would guess that it will be pretty much dry camping. I can't see them inviting the world with the existing facilities that they have. My guess is they will use the lot in front of the factory to park.

From what I have heard there will be 15 amp hook ups and water.
This would be enough power to keep batteries charged.

Unfortunate date
The Festival is sandwiched between the 50th Reunion of my old Fighter Squadron in Colorado Springs and the fall rally of my old SOB trailer club in extreme south Texas where I want to see some old friends. It would be a tough stretch to fit a trip to Ohio into the time between.

That 15A is probably shared, but even at that, if everyone arrives with charged batteries, and switches the frig to LP, it shouldn't trip the breaker just running 12V lights and appliances off the converter, as well as a small 120V TV, and sat receiver or DVD player.

I am seriously considering this trip. I ususally go where there is no power, water or sewer hookups so any electricity would be a plus in my book.

We are now committed to the Homecoming Rally in October at the factory in Jackson Center. Anyone that also decides to go, keep an eye open for the Silvertwinkie. It may be the only one that is being pulled by a 1996 Dark Cherry Metallic Impala SS with Illinois plates!

Not this year....
After giving this much consideration, we've decided that as much as we wanted to, we'll not be able to make it this year.
I have a 14 y/o in his first year of high school, and my wife needs to save her PTO pool time for surgery in late October.
For those of you who are planning to attend, please post for the rest of us so we can attend vicariously!

See ya there
I just now signed up to go. Just me and my travelling cat. My wife is going to Europe in November with her sisters, so she decided to sit this one out.
I will stop by and see an old friend in KY on the way and then go on after the Homecoming to the Harrisburg PA area to see my brothers who I haven't seen since my mother died in '89.
With 3332 miles to go, I'll have to abandon my usual method of avoiding interstate highways. I won't be able to avoid the Little Rock to Memphis stretch, either, which I hate like poison.
