Airstream History

As a new Airstream owner I have become interested in the history of Airstream, Inc. I have read everything I can on the subject and have noted one strange thing: Rarely do I see mention of the Airstream factory in Cerritos, Ca.

I believe the Cerritos factory came after Santa Fe Springs in the late 60s or early 70s and lasted through most of the 70 and maybe into the early 80s, but I have no exact knowledge. I lived nearby of and on since 1966 and now since 1985, and no one aropund here even seems to remember the exact dates.

Any Airstream history buffs out there who might have the exact details?
