Airstream Forums Map!!

Hey everybody! I saw the VAP doing this and thought it would be a great idea for AirstreamForums.com members to put ourselves on the map!

It's free, just click on the link in my signature then click on "Add Yourself" to the right of the map and show us where you are! You can use just your screen name if you wish to maintain your privacy.

If someone has already started one of these that I don't know about then pm me the link. Enjoy!

P.S. - I've also added a link to the links section. Keyword "Map"

We're rapidly approaching our 10,000th member so I figured we should be able to actually SEE just how big we've become.

I forgot to mention you can put yourself on the map without actually haveing to join.

It would be quite convenient to also have a separate map of volunteer inspectors, or maybe just to code that into the existing map with "V.I" in the individual comments, don't you think?

I have been working on this for some time. I will install the first version before the end of the year. It will require a member to place their 'pin' on the map and mark their location. A future version will use the zipcode (or city/state/country) from your profile to automatically map everyone. It's going to be really cool...

Here is an example of what I am talking about but it might be placed on the Google map...

Great idea!!! I'm on the map. Although when I zoom in, it shows I'm a mile or so north of my actual address. Guess folks won't be showing up at my doorstep.

It puts your pin near the center of the zip code you enter. I think if someone were to pay for a "premium" type map, more options would be available. I just set up a free one.

I might need a little help. I am trying to add my address (Richmond, VA) For some reason I do not show up on the map. I do show up as a member (vajeep) Will the map let more than one member per city??

You're on there right behind Troubleskeep. If you click on your name on the right, it will pop up your pic and bubble.

Just found that another forum member is in my same town!!!
