Whoa!!! What happened? I have no idea how I moved into the ocean two states away! And now that I'm trying to at least live in the ocean closer to home I can't seem to figure out how to "update" or "edit" my info.I tried to delete my info... oh I don't know.

I tried to PM you, but your settings don't allow it...
Make sure you're logged in.
Click on the map (upper right of the page).
Upper left of the map has a "your entry" button. Click there.
Click an area to center that in the screen, zoom in, repeat.
You don't need to have your name in the marker text. You can put whatever you want in there. Howdy!
Update your information...
I mentioned before, with IE it wasn't showing a change for me. I believe I deleted cookies and offline files, closed IE, and then re-started IE. I believe that's what it took to see the changes.
I use Mozilla Firefox now and like it much better...

Mine's right on my house, but hello!... My trailer's not there. I've gotten several groups started on Yahoo and one of the features that I really like is that they have a setting where memberships have to be approved by a moderator. They also let non-members only view the home page. As soon as they click on something, it asks them to join.
I think the members here are a pretty good lot and I don't worry that much about disclosing information on this sight due to the fact that the moderators do an excellent job weeding out the rubbish. Maybe if we could set this place up so that members only could view profiles, the map, photos, etc, it might alleviate a lot of the privacy issues.
I think using the internet mapping feature is a great application for the Airstream community. Thanks for setting this up.
Here is a slightly different topic that has nothing to do with mapping airstream members. If you want to experience a REAL trip, try Google Earth. Go to http://earth.google.com/ and get the free version of Google Earth. "Google Earth combines satellite imagery, maps and the power of Google Search to put the world's geographic information at your fingertips." After you download and set it up (super easy), you can literally FLY from one location on the globe to another. Try it, you'll LOVE it!!! It's not real time imagery. Some of the satellite pics are several years old and major cities are much more detailed than rural locations but, all in all, it's an amazing application. Fun to plan your next trip from a satellite fly-by!!

I was all set to delete cookies... and what do ya know I'm back in CA. I think I had to turn off the computer first to see the changes. Maybe I'll show up somewhere else too, because I clicked a bunch of different stuff thinking it wasn't working .

I got really annoyed with opening this site and haveing to refresh every page because IE was storing everything in it's casch. I went into options and selected "check for newer version of the website every time I visit". That took care of it.
I've recently been looking at the Member Map in the upper right corner. There aren't very many members posted when you really think about it. The personal identity issues don't need to be scary for the same reasons it is possible to obscure details in your AirstreamForums profile.
Accuracy is not mandatory and it may be desirable to put the pointer on a different feature in your general area. What-evah.... but it'd be nice if you'd wave as the we fly over at 50,000' while cruising the website.
Please consider putting yourself on the map if you haven't already done so. Thank you!
I have upgraded the Google Member Map. It now shows your avatar, username and allows you to type a message of up to 256 characters. I am working on figuring out how to make the avatars show up bigger but at least we are headed in the right direction. Now if I can just figure out how to show different colors for courtesy parking and more profile details in the pop-up quote box!
Look for lots of new features with this plus a new map where rallies, campgrounds, etc will be posted. You will be able to click on the rally and see info about the dates, a link to the calendar item to see the details and who is going. On the campground pins you will see some info and a link to the review section for that campground.
Over time I really want to evolve this feature. I think it is a great resource for everyone...
