Airstream Factory Tour and Camping Locations

We have an Airstream trailer and will be in the vicinity of Jackson Center, OH in the beginning of September and would like to take a factory tour. Please advise a location to obtain the factory tour schedule and campgrounds nearby. Thanks for your help. LCP

If they have room, you may be able to stay in the Terra-Port they have right on the grounds of the factory. I think first dibs go to those in for service, but there should be a few spots open. It is reasonable too, I think only 10-15 dollars a night.

Great tour - friendly people - much to see - have a GREAT time!

You can call the factory service center and set an appointment for service if there is anything your AS needs and at the same time ask for a Terra-port slot which is right next to the factory. They will pick up your AS right at the Terra-port with a tow motor (fork lift with hitch) and deliver it for service.

If you are not going for service, the Terra-port is still available for $10 per night on a first come basis...no reservations. If you arrive after hours, just pick a slot and park and in the morning check in at the service desk reception in the Airstream building right next door which faces Pike.

The tours are also first come basis and sign ups are at the same reception desk, sign up early and you should have no problem. When we were there in May this year the tour started at 1:00PM and was a great way to get to know what an Airstream really is, both inside and out.

If by chance you cant get into the Terra-port, there is a good KOA up I75 (north of the factorty) at Wapakoneta.

We were there on Tue Wed and Thur of last week. Used the Terraport, visited Wapak, the old canal at Piqua & New Bremen (plus the bike museum there), Indian Lake, Piatt Castles, etc, etc. Took the kids to the Elder theater in downtown Jackson Center ($3 for the show), and the swimming pool in town too. Kids (4 & 8) had a great time. We all got shirts :-)

Over this past weekend, we dry camped at Kiser Lake State Park - great activities for the kids. The naturalist & volunteers really put out a lot of effort.

Indian Lake has a State Park too, but it was full. the beach wasn't bad though.

Factory Service

We are in the area now(7/4) and the AS factory is closed for the week. I don't think tours will resume until Monday. Both service and the Wally store is open. They just repaved the paved the parking lot and terra-port. It should be open on Wednesday .
