The next few shots are that of the initial process of bringing the frame into the factory, installing the bellypan, axle(s), tanks, etc.

Now onto the coaches on the line. Again, as most of you know, we were allowed to enter some of the coaches under construction. The entire process is amazing and the folks on the line are very friendly....Don and the other employees didn't seem to mind us taking a few peeks....which I'll post in a bit...here are some pictures of actual coaches on the assembly line. I was a bit out of sorts, but I think there are two lines running...anyway more instant gratification...more pics..

Here is a CCD in production....Here as with all Airstreams, you can see the coating that they apply on the inside to all the seams....it's kind of greyish black looking.....

Here is a Classic LTD curbside shot...you can see some of the internal work going on as well. BTW, all 2004s have the cool looking retro badging from what I can tell.....and the CCDs have a special CCD badge under the cool looking retro model name badges.

This is getting to the end....just a few odd shots here and there of the factory from various shots. We had a bit more time as Brandi and I were the only two on the tour.....many thanks again to Don for all of his time!

Utility door fabrication. Keep in mind that they fabricate a ton of stuff, even down to the LP tank covers.

and my last pic for now....an above floor shot of some of the shells being constructed.

I hope you all enjoyed these as much as I did. I would strongly suggest if you have the time, to go see Jackson Center. The facility itself is not really what you would expect, but as I said the folks are really nice to hang with and the factory tour, well, you know what I think already.

Again, thanks to Don, Jim and Ronald for their time and big thanks to all the Airstream employees that shared their time with us. The factory was at full speed and busy with activity. It was an exp that I won't soon forget!

It's always nice to see the factory again. Thanks for sharing.
I think we've made four tours and, I never get tired of seeing the work in progress.
ciao

From the nothern suburbs it was approx 280 miles to Jackson Center.

If I can swing the vacation for the homecoming, I will surely go again. As cloud said, you can go time and time again, and still find great interest in what they do there!

Glad you all liked the "tour".

WOW! Thanks for the pics! They are interesting. I'll have to make that tour next time I am in Ohio.

Does this mean the facility was disappointing?
