Airstream Computer desktop theme
Does anyone know if there is a desktop theme and screensaver featuring airstreams anywhere? Would like to download one.

Not sur there is, but you can shamelessly take a jpg pic off the website and make some great desktop "wallpaper."

My only suggestion is:
If you would like to use other folks photos, you should probably ask permission first...no biggie, I'm sure most people would be honored. However, some photos may carry copyrights...I have several posted that should not be used for something like that. Others I wouldn't mind if asked first...

I took mine off the Airstream website. I agree, using some pictures, copywrited or not, is always a good idea to ask if you plan on using the pictures for anything but local and personal use. As for the Airstream site, I didn't ask for several reasons. Might not been right, but I don't plan on using the pictures commerically on any of my websites, so for personal use I doubt many would care and most would never know anyway. For those who don't want their pictures taken and used at all, personal or otherwise, there is a way to lock them on the website so that the cannot be duplicated.

Using Pics for wallpaper
Stop and think about this for a moment.......If someone posts their picture on the internet, they are doing it so that it is available for viewing by the internet public. So, you can legally look at it, touch it or salavatate over it. Now, there is no time limit for engageing in the aforementioned. You can view it with your monitor for one minute, two, five or even 30 minutes. As long as your little heart desires. If you use it for wallpaper, you are simply viewing it for 24 hours per day from the location the owner placed it! You have NOT copied or otherwise duplicated the picture. Therefore, you have not violated any copyright laws that I am aware of.

A slight correction

Actually, anything you can see on your screen can be copied. If you right click anywhere on the page then press the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard, you can either print that page or paste it to your Paint or Word Pad program.
The only sure way not to have a photo copied is not to post it anywhere on the net.

Rog,
As an IT admin, I have to very much so disagree. It can and is done. If you don't want your pictures taken you can block the file transfer if you chose to through a number of different ways one of which is not to post it on the web at all, yes, but there are other ways that allow you to post a picture and in some cases you can't even print them.
If you want to know how, I get $195/hr for moonlighting.

Ok Eric, thanks.
I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to pc technology but I've never ran across any image that can't be copied via the method I mentioned. $195 per hour is a little beyond my budget so I'll take your word for it.
BTW trumpwer, the personal screensaver is a neat idea. I found a website that offers a freeware download of a screensaver creator. The link is below.
I installed the program, put 8 of my own photos on it and set the change interval at 15 seconds. It's easy to set up and works fine for me but as with any internet download, I have to caution that anyone else who chooses to download it does so at their own risk.

I smell a challenge
What's a URL to a page with one of those uncopyable images?

Ok. I will warn you all ahead of time that this site is very vulgar. So if you want to visit, do so at your own risk.
www.limmy.com
He currently has a rabbit on the main page. Try to copy it. You might be able to print it and view it on his site, but I have for months been unable to copy it.
He has several other pictures that can be copied.
Regards,
Eric

Ooof. That's smarts...hang on a minute while I finish digesting my left foot!
Nice guys....any of you need a job??
I guess I need a PC, my Mac just won't do it no matter what.
I'll hunt for some more on a PC and post them. They are out there I know cause I've tried to grab some and had no luck. Based on your success with the rabbit though (in such a short period of time--5 minutes??) I am starting to think it's my Mac. The beast does live though. There are pics you cannot get out there. I'm still trying to read the instructions on how to make it work on my sites. I have not been able to get it to work yet myself.
Nice job. One day I'm gonna be a real card with websites...until then, I'm just going to stick to my Cisco stuff.
Eric
PS- I like how you edited the rabbit.

Are you using OS X? If so what key combos did you use. I've used 2 buttom mice, since mice, and pressed all the keys I knew and still, no joy.

Did you use a screen capture program that then allowed you to edit the image??
I have used a program like that to snag single frames out of a MPEG movie.

Nope. Just been using the basics that came with the CPU. I could not even get the basic screen shot to grab the site main page.

OSX has a utility called Grab, screen capture is not built into the system the way it was through 9. Look in the Utilities folder in the Application folder.
