Lightbulb Airstream Books & Articles

I have a copy of the book titled AIRSTREAM the History of the Land Yacht by B.Burkhart and D.Hunt. Is there anyone else who has this book? And are any of you willing and able to scan some pictures/drawings from it and post them to our forum?

The pictures I need are pages 81,70,66,54, and most importantly page 74.
These all have to do with Airstream construction, and most specifically with frames. I would like them placed in a thread regarding Airstream framework. I think they would be an excellent resource in many of our discussions.

Please PM me if you like.

Thanks

BTW I do not have a scanner.

I would suggest that the authors permission be obtained, in writing.

Question 'Blue Beret' & 'Vintage Advantage'

Regarding the Blue Beret and the Vintage Advantage, the publications of the WBCCI and VAC groups.

Is there a complete library of the back issues of these available to anyone's knowledge?

Is there an index of either or both?

I have never seen a copy of either. Are they informational regarding maintenance tips and repair proceedures? What is their value say compared to these forums?

What is the format of the two? i.e. newsletter or magazine or newspaper etc.
How many pages on average?

RE: Back Issues of Vintage Advantage

Greetings Hex!

There is a complete library of back issues of the Vintage Advantage . To access this library, you must be a Member of the Vintage Airstream Club . These back issues are in Acobat (pdf) format and can be accessed via the VAC's web site. They are located in the Members Only section - - your latest issue of the Vintage Advantage will have your member's password if you are a member of both the Vintage Airstream Club and WBCCI .

The Blue Beret , the monthly publication for members of the WBCCI , caters to the much wider interests of the Airstreaming community in general. It reports on activities of the various regional, national and local functions. In addition, there are regular columns focusing upon care and maintenance of the various Airstream products. You will also find information about Rallys, Caravans, and other activities that are planned at the national, regional, and local levles.

The Vintage Advantage . the quarterly publication of the Vintage Airstream Club , focuses upon the interest of those who own Airstream products that are more than 25 years of age. There is news of Vintage events, and listings of upcoming Vintage events. There are articles dealing with many issues regarding the "care and restoration" of Vintage Airstream Products. It is a very informative publication, and provides a wealth of valuable information to anyone who is or is considering restoring or refurbishing a Vintage Airstream product.

Kevin.
Those passwords are confidential, and are not to be shared with "anyone" unless they are appropriate members and have paid theirs dues, as you and I have.
That is in part what we paid for.

RE: VAC Passwords

Greetings Andy!

I am totally aware of password confidentiality, and would never divulge passwords. In a previous life, I was a network administrator for a public entity. That's why I made the point that the password is provided to members of VAC & WBCCI via the Vintage Advantage . In fact, I was the webmaster for VAC during the first year following its acquisition of the web site.
