Talking Airstream 34 footer on production line - Picture

I got a pic when I was at the factory last week of the newly re-introduced 34 footer Airstream Classics during my cross country trip towing my Airstream East Ocean to West Ocean (currently in Vegas at Circus Circus RV Park).

BTW - great trip - be in San Diego tomorrow - promise to post a write up...

So here is the picture as taken at the Airstream factory. Photo is just ok - cause we know us civilians are not supposed to be taking photos in the factory...

So here is your picture - like I said not very good - but at least you get to see it...

I'm sitting here in the Terra Port and had a tour of the Airstream Factory and the 34' is nice and with all LED lighting inside it really is well lit up. Keep making them for they will surely sell.

What's the floor plan? The windows seem different from the 09 version.

I just looked at the 2009 brochure. You are right, the windows are different. The window pattern is identical to our 2010 Classic 31D, which has the galley on the curb side. So I am guessing that the 34 now has the Galley on that side also.

Regards,

Ken

That sure would be nice.

Does anyone know if they can be custom ordered? The wife and I have been going back and forth with the different models and although we would prefer something smaller, the lack of space for the little one is making us rethink what we should do.

It would be nice if they would make one without the mouse fur. I really like the aluminum look of the flying clouds and internationals.

When we ordered our classic a year ago, the dealer said just about anything custom can be ordered for a $500 charge plus the cost of the customization.

After looking at the trailers, the mouse fur was one of the reasons we only considered the Classics. We both found the aluminum interiors stark and sterile in appearance. Obviously that puts us in a minority on these forums. To me the mouse fur gives the trailer a warmer cozy feeling.

Regards,

Ken

I've searched all over the Internet looking for a late model 34 but haven't been able to find one.

I'm assuming that it's $500 per change. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The wall coverings aren't bad, but in ten years that may change.

I guess I should hit up a dealer and find out what it would cost to add some windows and leave out the wall coverings.

there was no 34 in '09...

unless one counts the panAM.

and while that vessel is 34 the layout is 25 and it's not a classic.

window placement in the op is typical of most 34s made in this century.

with the fridge vent along the curbside and 'stacked windows' over the dinette.

so the galley is probably streetside, per the typical layout.

stiil it is GOOD to see they're making a few once again.

cheers

Thanks for pointing that out. The window behind the door is a bit difficult to see, but now that I've had a second look I can see them.

The below is from the 2009 Airstream brochure published in August 2008.

When we first looked at Airstreams in May of 2009, the 34 was an option.

Ken

As far as I know, it was quoted as per change, but I didn't investigate, because the only change I was looking for was a better converter. It was cheaper to do it later myself.

Ken

When I ordered the trailer and wanted a couple of items different than the standard, I was charged the $500 once for all changes.
