1) What would it take to do this?
2) Which Airstream model would be the best for this?

Thanks
This has to be a joke. if not then maybe I should consider traveling with my full size china cabinet. I bet if my hubby drove real slow nothing would break.

You would need to tune it after every trip down the road....

Hmmm...I do recall seeing an article & pictures in a magazine a number of years ago that was about a couple who used to go to all the International Rallies (possibly in the 70's or 80's?) with an upright piano in their Airstream...I have no idea how it would weather the ride or stay in tune - but it has been done! I'll have to check through so old magazines and see if I can find it...

Maybe look into one of those "toy hauler" trailers.
Storage in the back - usually with ramps - for hauling a couple of motorcycles or snowmobiles.
I don't know how you would keep it in tune but the trailer would be built for the extra weight.
You could probably get a grand into one.

Don't people want to hear a piano in front of a campfire?

I stumbled upon this thread when I was looking to see how a piano could be brought in Airstream.

We have a 2016FC23D, and so far, our trips have not been long enough for me to justify even attempting it. But that may change in the next 5~6 years.

When we do start traveling for extended periods of time, say longer than a month, I do feel that I must bring my piano with me. I can't not play for that long because it would drive me crazy.

I do understand OP's desire to travel with a real piano. If I was a serious classical player, I would probably feel the same way. But I'm not a serous classical player, and I find a today's modern digital piano quite adequate--new ones have really come a long way, and they feel almost like a real thing. Plus you don't need to tune it, you can use a headphone, you can abuse it and if it breaks, no big deal.

With our 23D, I don't think I can make a permanent set up even with a digital piano. I'm thinking of just putting on the dinette when I play. If so, all I need is a height adjustable stool. But I haven't figured out where I would put it away when I'm not playing. When we are moving, I could just put it on the bed, and that's probably the safest place, but not sure if I want to keep it on the bed when we are stationary (It's not like I play 5 hours a day; it would be 1.5 hours every other day). I haven't measured the dimensions, but possibly, the storage under bed is a candidate. If it doesn't fit in there, maybe some modification of seating area is needed to put it under the couch.

I just wondered what other people have done, but speculating from lack of pictures on the internet, not a whole lot of people do this, I figured.
