Another Reminder

Hey All, the House Tour is this Sunday. It's been changed to 'Home improvement and Garden Tour'....But I'm only in it for the Airstream attention. Hope no-one is expecting much with the Overlander, it's so far behind schedule, I'm a little embarassed. Oh well. A friend from Mascoutah IL will be bringing her '195? ???' I've completely forgotten what it is. Panub will have their 2003 here, and the 76 Overlander, and 68 Safari will be here. I'd love to have any other A/S's here to show off, if anyone is interested.

The tour is from 12-4 this Sunday, May 23rd. Never mind buying tickets if you are just interrested in seeing the A/S. Hopefully it won't rain, and hopefully I will have time to spruce up the yard.

FYI, I have an Alley next to the yard, so that's where they will all be lined up...So, come join Panub and us for a relaxing afternoon. There's an 'after tour party' in the yard, after 4:00. I will have a frige in the yard...LOL...OK, in the garage, if I can get to it....LOL... So bring what you'd like to drink, Beer and coctails welcome, No Chocolate Milk needed.

If you think you might make it, let me know. Cosmotini is planning on swingin by, and we'd love to meet everyone, and have this oportunity to get to know each other, network, and drink....LOL

Can't hurt to stop on by!!!!

Thanks
Ron and Tony

I'm throwin the pics of my friends' A/S in here.....It's been set aside for years, and I've got her all excited to getting it fixed up....

Directions?

Ron,

I know the general area where you are, Bug Store, Botanical Gardens, etc. but what is your address? Are you on Shaw?

Ron, I rode by on Tuesday but couldn't find where you are at. I rode the alleys behind the bug store and didn't see any A/S. We need directions, hopefully I might be able to stop by on Sunday also.

Easiest way to tell you, since there are nothing but one way streets here...

OK, per good advice, to me the over trusting person, that still obviously didn't learn from the fraud incident.....LOL or not LOL>...

PM me, and I'll be happy to give you directions, instead of directing the forum to a nice free airstream....
Jack, we're really hit and miss with meeting aren't we. The safari is parked in the alley behind the girl accross the street's and the OVerlander is taking up most of Flora.

Hope you all can make it.

Ron

Best wishes for a fun-filled day, Ron and Tony! Even though we are in mid Mo, we don't do much driving in the "city" unless it's have-to, so we'll wait for your update on the Forums, but I know that you are going to wow the crowd with your Airstream show. We'll raise a toast to you while hanging out in our back yard tomorrow. Meanwhile, we are looking forward to the tour at Moraine View! -Georgia and Max

Well, Patty and I stopped by the Neighborhood House Tour on a cloudy Sunday. In front of the Bug Store was one Airstream topped by a big inflatible flamingo. Driving further back in the homes we found an alley decorated with balloons with Airstreams parked.

There we found Tony and Ron along with Panub and her hub Yokomotion with their new Bambi. Also making their presence was Cosmotini and his wife. We met friends relatives and other folks doing the tour. Also surprising was the visit of Nancy Thomas wife of our St. Louis Airstream dealer, Bill Thomas Camper Sales.

Evermindful of marketing, there were flyers for new Airstreams on hand and business cards for Mac, one of the sales people at the dealership.

All in all it was a fun time, and we found that at least 8 of us will be compatible at the Moraine View rally on June 11th. I took a couple of pictures and will try to get those posted later.

We left as it was begining to rain. On the way home my son called and said it was hailing at our house. I didn't think too much since he said it was pea sized, until I watched the 10PM news and they said that 1" hail was reported in our area. I'm stopping by the storage lot tonight on the way home to check out the Classic. Cross your fingers that the hail cloud passed the storage lot by.

Jack

First, I had to figure out who 'Shirley' was, apparently I was sleeping and missed that part of the movie
You are correct, I was not serious!
From one forum member to another who has not yet met you...WE LOVE JACK (and wife, and Cosmotini and wife!).
I 'second' (or third, or fourth, or fifth) the idea of JCCI!!

We watched the "storm" pass by us headed east late yesterday afternoon and I thought of the BIG event at Ron's place in the city. I cringe now whenever I hear about hail in the vicinity. Funny, I don't worry about the big white box SOB, just about the AS! Anyway, Jack, hope that you are dent free and that tonight's promised storms leave everybody harmfree as well! So, Ron, have you caught your breath? Please post and tell us all about it!

OK, Sit Back

Here We Go.... I'm Going to Post million Pictures, and then comment, so sit back and Enjoy....

Actually, Anyone into old archetecture may enjoy these, and anyone from St.Louis might like to know.

The interior of the Dome on the Mental Hospital (originally the St.Louis County Lunatic Assylum) was on the Tour. We were able to see it Sat. Night.

This is the original wooden Staircase from when the building was built in 1863 (I think that's right).

Still very useable, and very interesting to climb. Only ten people at a time, and the entire thing wobbles, it continues up two floors, I think fourty feet or so, to the top.

There is also some graffiti (OK, A LOT OF GRAFFITI) but much of it is over 100 years old....this pic is from March 13, 1898. I was amazed.... It is said to be as high as the arch, at this elevation, and I took more pictures of the interior than the view.

So, I know it's not related to A/S's but I was fascinated by it!!!!

Sorry

Had to go move an airstream from the store....

Since you have asked....

Here are more. Notice the Crown Moulding around the door and overhead, I included a close up. Although deteriorating, it's incredible.

ALso notice the door on the brick wall, it's rounded. Located in the rotunda of the first floor.
