A call for all new airstreams have full windows on both ends
Hello. I'm looking to get a new Globetrotter 30' rear bedroom (I know they don't make it but am hopeful they will since the signature is now gone). What I can't understand is why airstream doesn't have the wrap around windows in the 30' rb. The benefit of the 30' rb is it has those two wardrobes for hanging clothes and giving you more storage. The downside is it takes away the full windows. Those windows are why many of us want an airstream. Anyone know why they don't put those wardrobes near the wall of the bathrooms? Even if they had to make the 30' a 31' would be totally worth it. Am I alone here?

Wrap around windows
One of the many reasons we purchased a 2019 FC25 Rear Bed Twin was for the rear wrap around windows. Your not alone. Really opens up the inside.

I agree with you but on our Classic 33 the bathroom is in the back. I don't want panoramic windows in my bathroom. I love having them in the bedroom though.
I don't understand the wardrobes in the 30 as they cram you between two walls when you are in bed. So you lose the panoramic windows in your bedroom and get a claustrophobic feeling.

It's a logical place to put the wardrobes for that layout. If they put them at the other end of the bedroom they'd be in the way when walking around the foot of the bed. Since you don't sit on the very head of the bed when going to bed, that space is unused space to recover for something else. You could have a plan with nightstands there, and maybe a high cabinet above the pano window, but it would have much less total storage volume and no place for hanging clothes. Where would you keep the evening gowns and tuxedos then?

The panoramic windows front and rear is why we bought the twin beds in our Classic. Those windows on both ends makes the trailer seem so much bigger.

30 classic has pano windows with wardrobe in the hall. Night stands have minimal storage. We enjoy the lay out.

I like the storage in the full length wardrobe/night stands. However, hanging stuff there is not practical. I need to build shelves and remove the rod.

It's a matter of personal preference I suppose but we prefer the layout of our 28. The hanging lockers are useful for shirts or light jackets and as I recall, the locker beneath is larger than the similar locker in the 27. The downside is that it's somewhat tougher to make the bed (not that I care, that's my wife's job). I can write this because she doesn't read the Airforums. :-)

This past week, I had the pleasure of camping side-by-side for 2 days with a transiting couple in their 30' International Serenity RBT (we were both there to get work done at an AS dealer in Caldwell, ID). We discussed this very thing and they said they had to think long and hard about giving up the pano windows on the rear but finally decided to because they needed the storage; and realized they weren't going to wake up in the morning and then sit on the beds to enjoy the rear view. I have pano windows front and back and typically, I only open the shades in bedroom to about the width of my nightstand; but fully open them on the other end where I sit with morning coffee.

@Ddobier - You are likely not alone. Maybe even in the majority, but the panoramic window choice is certainly not universally desired. Personally, I prefer the smaller side and rear windows with more cabinetry for clothing storage.
We use our rig for both short weekend rally events and extended multi-month long outings. When you spend long periods on the road, traveling thousands of miles through widely varying environmental climates, the added clothing storage becomes more important than morning visuals. In addition, in colder weather there is less temperature loss which may make your sleeping area more comfortable overnight.
I also prefer having a dark sleeping area less subject to being illuminated sooner than I want to wake up. We have made many trips north into areas where the sun rises in the 5 o'clock hour which is not my cup of tea.

Shouldn't have to choose one or the other
Thanks SeeMore and others for responses. Going full time I'll definitely need the storage but just wish I didn't have to choose windows or storage. Seems like there has to be away of if having both. Perhaps if they put the bedroom in the front where the view typically isn't as nice I'd be more open to blocking some of the view (why it's in the back I don't really get either other than maybe quieter???).

I have a 28 RBQ. Given a choice, I would pick the pano windows and lose the upper closet.

We prefer the layout and windows of our Classic 30. We opened the shades this morning and watched the sun rise up over Reelfoot Lake, TN.

We are the opposite. We really wanted rear twins in our ordered FC 30, but the rear end metal of the queen bed model. So just a center window. AS wouldn’t do it for us.
The reason being is that we own a summer business in Vermont and travel mostly in the winter/cooler time of year. The windows let in a lot of cold. So, we got the twins and rarely open the wrap around curtains. We’ll probably put reflectix in the wrap windows next fall, before our next trip.

I love having the huge wrap around windows front and back on our new 27’ Globetrotter. However, opening and closing those white curtains is a pain and will eventually make them grimy, I suspect. Is there an easy way to slide them open or do they loosen up over time?

They loosen up for sure. We have been traveling for almost 3 months now and they went from having to open or close them one inch at a time to *almost* being able to slide them open or closed in one pull.
The fabric is surprising me, though, because even with two kids, they seem to be staying clean. We will probably swap them out at some point for something less sterile than hospital white.

Counterpoint. The wraps on both ends of our 30' Classic Twin look nice from the outside, but we would have deleted them from the bedroom if given the option. We never open the shades on them and they are light leaks when sleeping and hot/cold leaks all the time. Over time they are just two more window openings that might eventually leak. Zero value to us.

Same reason I bought my 30 Classic. An AS not to have panoramic windows on both ends is a travesty.

We love the floor plan and wrap around windows in our 30’ Classic. (Not as much as the dog does.). We moved from a 42’ diesel motor home to the Classic and don’t feel cramped due to the windows.

Hope AS come up with remote control for opening and closing curtains in near future
