2020 Flying Cloud Rear Bed Twin on Order!

Hi Team,

We are very excited. We placed the order for our 2020 FC 25RB Twin with:
2nd A/C
Window Awnings
180 Watt Solar
Convection oven

Happy with our deal too. 24.2% off MSRP. Only addition above that is a $399 Prep Fee. Should have a deliver date in a few weeks.

Cru-in,
Congratulations. Couple of questions. Can you tell us what changes, if any, were made to the '20 model over the '19? And where did you buy your trailer?
Thanks

We will be towing with a 2019 RAM 1500. The 25RB Twin was specifically chosen for its
fully loaded TW. The Hot water heater (6 gallons of water), 2nd AC, Black/Grey tanks, and outside storage are all behind the rear wheels. This gives most folks a fully loaded TW in the 800s vice the 1200s for the FB version.

Hope your "payload" sticker on that RAM is more than 1500lbs. It seems difficult to find one with decent payload these days...Nice trailer for sure, though!

Yes it is tuff to find one with high enough payload numbers. I have carefully run the numbers and, fully loaded, we will be a reasonable bit within all our trucks specs. Prior to the purchase of our truck I had run the numbers. When looking at trucks, the first place my wife and I went was the payload sticker.

I could find 4 or 5 postings of folks having a fully loaded TW on a 25 RB Twin of 800+/- pounds. I suspect I could possibly have the opposite problem;too little TW. With all the inside/outside storage, Grey/Black tanks, water heater, and 2nd AC being behind the axles, depending on how full the Black/Grey water tanks are, I could be light on the TW.

The 25 FB was an entirely different story with folks reporting loaded TW of up to 1200 pounds. I suspect many people are overloading their 150/1500 trucks pulling this trailer.

IMHO, Dealers should be more proactive in pointing the potential high TW of the FB models.

It amazes me that so few sales people actually know the products they are selling. I was lead down the "it will tow XXXXX lbs, with no mention of payload at all, path! So when I was towing with my 1500 my goal was to stay under the rear axle weight rating, which was difficult to do but possible.

I think you'll be fine with a 25 RB and the 4100# axle rear axle capacity on your new RAM.

Enjoy!

That's probably true, but not all 1500's are created equal. Our 2017 Sierra 1500 with the max trailering package has a 4300 lbs. rear GAWR, 1250 lbs. tongue weight rating, and a payload rating on the sticker of 1910 lbs. The TW of our 25 FB is ~1000, depending on how it's loaded, and considering the information below from the manual, we have extra capacity based on how we pack for camping. We've had no problems in either the Rockies or Appalachian mountains.

"Trailer weight rating (TWR) for pickup models is calculated assuming the tow vehicle has the driver, a front seat passenger, and all required trailering equipment. Weight of additional optional equipment, passengers, and cargo
in the tow vehicle must be subtracted from the trailer weight rating."

Congratulations on your trailer. You're going to love it!

Lessons learned for me too with my F150 Platinum, few years back...Love the 1/2T, but no payload unless special order it seems... Glad things looking good. Our 25's were all over 1000lbs loaded; so we were always over payload, but didn't know it the first 3 years...live and learn!

I suspect your 25s were front beds?

Thanks
