2018 Globetrotter
I’m pretty surprised to not see any discussions on the 2018 Globetrotter that is apparently going to be announced this month. The only things I’ve found so far is that the interior is called London Grey and it will be another 27FB. Does anyone have any good info they can share?
I’m hopeful that Airstream is coming out with this new decor that will have a clean, modern esthetic, instead of more of the browns and grandma’s condo look (wall paper, yuck). To each their own, but it would be nice to have a pretty stark, modern vib for those that are wired in that style.
It would also be nice if they would offer something along these lines in a 28 rear bedroom. I know the 27 FB’s have been more popular but there are a lot of pluses for some of us with the rear bed floor plan. All of the recent small run trailers (Onyx, Sterling, Land Yacht) have been front bedrooms.

Yeah the exposed trashcans also are an interesting choice.
Here is another site, this one seems to indicate an Oct 14th release date. Perhaps Haydocy let the cat out of the bag early.

Actually, I kinda like it, though the toilet will have to be mounted at an angle, as in other 27FB models, to save the left knee, and I’d want to investigate the trash can holes behind the kitchen faucet.

I guess like anything you have to see it in person. The fact there are gas charged cylinders lifting the upper cabinet doors seems over the top. I’m just really struggling with the white thermofoil look.

I was at the factory on Monday to pick up my repaired Bambi and took the tour. They had quite a few Globetrotters being built, as well as Atlas motorhomes and Nest trailers.
The tour guide hurried us by any of these without comment. The tour guides didn't feel comfortable discussing those models.
You can see all these new models being made. They're all over the place in JC. In the buildings, on the lots outside, etc...
The Atlas was shown at the Hershey RV show (Colonial has video of Patrick walking through one). Nothing yet on the Globetrotter and Nest. The Globetrotter looked nice inside - I poked my head in a couple of them.

Nope, the Nests were indoors and you could barely see them.

Interesting choice to name the new model "Globetrotter". The originals were 19 feet long...

When we had our tour they had several on the line. The guide said they were replacing the Serenity and that ours was one of the last...

Misuse of a very classic name.

The GlobeTrotter name always meant a smaller nimble trailer to me...it doesn't seem to fit on a 28-footer! If AS is into recycling vintage model names, I wonder why they didn't use the Overlander name - it would be more in keeping with the vintage nomenclature for an appropriately sized trailer. Oh well...

Apparently they have four different versions, the Copenhagen, Dublin, London, and Barcelona. I’m not feeling the overhead cabinet doors but overall nice to see a more modern decor’. I’m wondering if they will do the Alde system in these.

The seat backs on the dinette look uncomfortably thin. Have to see the decor in person to render a meaningful opinion

Headwest. I think what you’re looking for is a Sterling. It had very clean lines but did not sell as well as we thought it would. If the Globe Trotter sells well l think you will see it in other sizes. My biggest issue with it is the small fridge.

Does anyone know what those two holes on the counter behind the sink in the new Globetrotter are for ?

I understand they are trash cans. I can only imagine the stains around the rims unless you are ultra-neat when depositing the garbage. Also, I don't think all of the "whiteness" will fare particularly well since most camping is done in the great outdoors which is prone to dust and dirt.

Thanks, you are probably right. Bad idea, sounds messy, smelly and a waste of limited valuable counter space. Taking out the trash will be more work.

I did notice that an IMPROVEMENT on the speaker placement was made. On our 25 rear bed Flying Cloud, the speakers over the dinette are mounted on the bottom of the overhead front cabinet. So the sound does not project into the trailer space very well.
I like how the speakers are face mounted on the cabinet on the GT. That should make the sound better.
