2004 30' Classic roof rack

Want to put a 0.7m Motosat dish on the roof of our new 2004 30' Classic. With the two skylites and two power vents options, the longest open space down the roof center line is 49", between the front of the A/C and the galley skylite.

Talking with MotoSat, they said I could use the 49 space, but put a roof rack that spans the roof side to side. I cound then mount the dish atop that. The rack for the mounting plate would be 22" x 48", which makes it extend 24" either side of the roof long axis centerline.

Has anyone had experience building a small roof rack that spans the roof side to side?

Anyone have suggestions for materials, attachment methods,...?
