Having lurked around on this forum over the past 2 years has helped my DW and me to build our dream. The information gleaned from everyone has been invaluable. We both want to thank everyone for your willingness to share so much history and information. It is deeply appreciated. Fact is, Airstream folks are a very strong community and are willing to go the extra mile for other streamers". Supporting and respecting one another is very apparent.
Our dream, which is to become reality in a few weeks, is a 2007 27' FB Classic. We expect to take delivery about mid April. Our 2 year wait will end then and a new chapter in our life begins. Thanks again to you all!
Good for you. It will be hard to keep the smiles off your faces between now and delivery time and after that there's no way to keep them off. We'll look for pictures. And just think, you only have until April to buy all the neat "stuff" to go with it - time's running out....
BTW, what does the "Warn" mean in the profile section? Is it a good thing or bad, possible moderator's tool for behavior modification, can it be removed?

It's been quite a process! I mentioned earlier our 2 year research project having determined Airstream was our ticket to wonder land. We wanted to time our final decison with my retirement and once the plug was pulled, to grab the brass ring.
This is going to be our FIRST Rv experience and want it to be a good one the first time out. We may be a little "off center" with this approach, but believe all the odds are stacked in our favor.
We did things a little different than most folks when making the RV plunge. Hensley Arrow had had deal we couldn't pass up at last year's end. So, for our first RV purchase we bought the hitch first! In the first week of Jan., we had a hitch but no TV or T.T... Ford was having a great rebate plan for January and the dealer wanted to clean out the 07 stock and we were able to make a screamin' deal of a 2007 F250 PSD CC, SB, King Ranch, oxford white.
By the middle of January we had a hitch and a truck in the garage but no trailer. We were still figuring out what exactly we want in a TT. We did know that we wanted a 27' FB Classic (we thought until Airstream introduced the 27'FB that we were going with a 30' Classic).
I don't mean to make a long story long, but you asked for it! So to continue, we finally decided on what should be inside. We ended up with ordering the trailer from Ardell Brown RV out of Utah. We live on the western slope of CO and the dealership is about 6 hrs. from us. Our sales person is Jeff and is GREAT to deal with.
We ordered options we hope will end up being stuff we'll enjoy and enhance our RVing experience. The options ordered were:
15,000 A/C W/Heatpump
40# Bottles and Cover
600W invertor
Audio/Video Upgrade W/23" (yes, they're now 23") TV
Front Panoramic Windows
Satellite Radio-Sirius W/audio/video Upgrade
Solar Charging System-Trailer
Our unit is expected to be delivered to the dealer early in April. There is a Camping World next to the dealer where we plan to spend several days figuring out everything. Then, off on our first journey to New Mexico and Southern AZ. (will keep you posted!).
Well, that's the story and I'm stickin' to it. Thanks for asking cuz we're really, really excited and bustin' to tell our story to anyone interested, and, of course, chompin at the bit to start our odyssey!
Kevbo, thanks for the compliment and very kind words. We are very fortunate and quite blessed to have this opportunity. We are looking forward being part of the Airstream community.
