1st camping trip of the season!!!

Okay, she is finally ready to depart the area. I have cleaned, cleaned, cleaned... Repaired a little, and sanded, painted the rusted stove. {Has anyone had the vent above the stove leak?? It seems to be coming from inside, maybe condensation? Cause the extrusion through the skin seems to be okay...} Got the rusty fridge parts sanded and painted. (Now I think my wife feels better about using it... )
For interested parties, I will be headed to Hunting Is. SC. Has anyone else been there? It will be my second trip there and I thoroughly enjoyed my last stay. We will be taking the bicycles this time round also.
I will be sure to post pics of this event as soon as I get back. Just gotta love those digicams... Oly C2100uz here.

We took our first trip of the season and our first trip with the local WBCCI chapter a couple of weekends ago. We had 21 units turn out to a campground about 40 miles east of St. Louis in Pocahantus Illinois.

The weekend weather wise was mixed, so we all got to check out our air conditioners and furnaces. My new digital thermostat worked great and I'm happy I replaced the Atwood unit that was originally supplied.

It was also our first outing with the A/S where we didn't have a sewer hookup. Unfortunately my wife forgot that fact. On asking her how was her navy shower she replied "what's that"? Needless to say I had to have the campground pump out the gray water tank shortly thereafter.

Thankfully every thing else was great and the only sour notes to the weekend was one owner whose refrigerator died, the electrical distribution panel for the area we were camped in kept tripping under the load of all the A/C units, and a 2+ inch rain soaking made things a little dicey upon our departure with one unit getting stuck in the mud.

Talking Great Time!!!

Well, we're back... We enjoyed the trip and have posted some pics of the adventure... We did find a couple of things needing repair. All of these are the TV antenna problems though. We could live with this problem, cause the tv cannot stand up to the activities available in the area.

We posted only the airstream pics here. All other photos were posted on Pbase.com. You can access my site here...

Lighthouse Pics

I use an Olympus C2100UZ. They are no longer in production, but you might be able to pick them up off the internet. They have their problems though, but take some amazing pics.

Thanks for the comments.

My vent was leaking when I bought my 75. It took a while to find, the water would drip out of the inside wall above the stove. I found the seal between the vent and the outside skin of the trailer was bad. I removed the fan and resealed. End of leak

Santa Fe to the Mojave Desert

Sounds as if this was a busy weekend for a lot of us who just
couldn't wait another moment to get on the road. Our trip took us across
Rt. 66 ( now mostly I-40) to a weekend of golf in the Mojave Desert. Tim's
brother is the golf pro at a small resort in southern Nevada, so we parked
just at the edge of the course with a great view of both the dunes and
the lush "greens". Not quite as warm as I'd hoped - sunny days and
freezing nights. On the way over we stopped in Seligman, Az -- the
classic Rt. 66 Tourist Trap. Funky and fun with main street full of junked
Edsels and a couple of vintage Airstreams. Check out the pics I just
uploaded for a little preview -- --
