Not exactly a bar graph, but...

Here is a link to the page with the top posters on the forums. It drops off quickly after the first page, as far as posts go.

yep it's pretty cool, already 21+ new members since janet's 15k post...
did the math last month; around 30 per day and increasing since 12/05.

i've looked at the member pages some on this issue......
approx 1/2 of the membership has 0-zero posts....
another 20+% 5 posts or less...

so lots of folks are registered and perhaps reading....

about 4200+ folks log on each day to read/post....
and this number is growing too

it used to be looking at the 'who's on line' tab
showed all the guests and what threads they were reading,
along with the member info...
BRING BACK this feature!

cheers

Not only are we up to 15,000 members but have had over 1,000 items posted to the classifieds, over 10,500 photos posted to the photo gallery (must be the biggest collection of Airstream photos around) and over 100 campground reviews! Together we have created an extremely special place!

I also want to point out that not all registered users have verified their email and are still waiting to be confirmed. So at some point I will purge some of those out and we will drop down again (I will probably do that towards the end of the year).

The long term goal (in my mind) is not just to be big but to keep up the quality of our data by having a clean database of members. What, what, when, where and why?

We are just about 4.5 years old, so it will be cool to see where we are for our 10th birthday!

I'll see what advances they have made with the software in that area. That was one of the most processor intensive queries on the forums and was slowing down the server, so for now it is going to have to stay off until I can learn more or get us more muscle....

Bein' as some of us Airstreamers are into member numbers, I was just wondering if there's any way we can tell what member number we were when we logged on for the first time. As we grow, I keep trying to remember how many were here when I became a forum member. Seems like it was under a 1000, certainly not more than 2000, but I don't remember. Any way to find out?

How is the feature you are referring to differ from viewing the 'who's on line' feature available under the quick links tab?Is it just the member info?

hi mike,
yep that is it.
now when you use this tab, only the 'members' are seen.
used 2 b that the long list of guests would also appear
along with what activity they were using...
member pages are usually only 3 or 4...
when guest info was included this was 10-20 or more pages!

hi andyR!
thanks for joining us!
i figured it was a resource intensive issue,
but it was interesting to 'see' what the guest were doing...

many of the guest are likely to be members who just haven't logged on...
and are just reading the first page of posts...
i know guest features have been gradually reduced...
like the search function is un available to guests...
ever considered limiting the # of guests on line at any one time?
with a message to the overload that they need to log on or sign up?

how many folks have signed up for the 'enhanced account? might be time for another ad campaign...perhaps!

thanks for keeping us on line and together!

How about this. It goes only to 100 posts 'cause it would have taken TOO long to go to zero.

I took the first 10 pages of data from the member list and imported it into Excel. Then made a graph from the post numbers. As I had to cut and paste page by page it took a little while. That's why I stopped at 100. Any further and the curve looks more and more sharp.

There used to be a way for the members to look it up...but I don't recall how. I think it was in the UserCP or had something to do with linking a personal website to this site...but I can't seem to find it. I also recall seeing the "date joined" in the Members List...

However, a mod/admin can look it up for you if you really must know...
