110V /15Amp/Furnace?

We just bought our first AS (2018 Flying Cloud 27FB) “Silvy” and I have a newbie question that I hope you can help me with. If I plug into a residential house (110/15Amp) can I run the furnace without draining my batteries or will the furnace fan still be running on DC?

The furnace fan will always run on DC, but if you are plugged in to house/shore power your battery charger will be operating to keep the batteries charged.

Larry,
Thank you. I thought that might be the case, but I wasn’t sure. We want to take the AS to Atlanta for Thanksgiving and park at our son’s house, and if it gets cold we wanted to know that we would have heat and not run down the batteries.

Anything in the trailer that is 12V (lights/water pump/all fans inc range hood/ control board for fridge if on propane setting/water heater control board if on propane) will be powered by the converter that is pulling 120 current from the 15 amp outlet, and convert it to 12 V dc. As mentioned it will also be charging your batteries at the same time. You also can run your fridge and water heater on electric settings. If you want to watch the tv, you can use your inverter too since any power it draws from batteries will be restored by the battery charger. You are good to go. And you get to enjoy the festivities and then retreat to your own Oasis!

Don't forget to turn on the propane.

All these trailers are a little different. But it is pretty standard that the "inverter" turns 12 VDC into 120 VAC. DON'T run the inverter when you are plugged in to the shore power. Shore power will power the TV just fine.

Turning on the inverter when plugged in is like running the yard sprinklers when it is raining.

I think PCskier meant to say. Use the inverter when not plugged in.

Thank you for clarifying this for me. I know my questions are really basic, and we are reading as fast as we can to learn what to do, and what not to do, so as to make a camping experience as fun as possible. And I am sure we will still make our fair share of mistakes. :-)
