Wheel wells

How has anybody else dealt with a hole in their wheel well. Is it made of black ABS or can someone tell me? Looking at patching it but would like to match materials.

I patched mine using marine grade epoxy based fiberglass. Yes the material is probably black ABS. There is another type of fiberglass resin that is designed to stick to the plastics used in the auto industry. I tried this too, but the smell of it was down right poisonous.

I patched mine using salvaged plastic, I think polyethylene, from orange barrels. It was pop riveted in and sealed with shake can expandable foam. Been in place for at least 7 years.

That was what I was think about doing. Even getting some ABS same color and heating until it molds same shape then seal and rivet.

How big is the hole? Is it cracking (growing) at the edges? Those would be two major considerations for me in how to go about repairing the issue. Regarding matching material visually: is it really that conspicuous so that matching would be a concern? (just curious)

I would go with ABS for the patch material. It can be "welded" with MEK or the black ABS glue for plumbing. Either method will essentially melt the surrounding ABS and as the solvent evaporates, the two parts will become one, permanently fusing them. You can find ABS sheet at https://www.mcmaster.com/ or a local plastics supplier or maybe even the right hardware store.
