I recently acquired a
1962 Bambi that needs some body work at the curbside wheel well. Apparently a tire change resulted in torn aluminum at roughly 1 and 11 o'clock for a length of approximately 4" each place. I understand this is not uncommon. Has anyone ever seen a repair incorporating a bolt-on "fender skirt" piece? While not original, these combined with larger underlying wheel cutouts, could be removed when replacing tires and hopefully prevent future problems.
